I would really love to see one with a sash (get rid of those white stripes in the mockup though). If that doesn't lead to enough meltdowns, I'd also like us to make it an all amber first kit just for one season. Before anyone spontaneously combusts I'm going to point out that we have already done this in the early sixties so it's not entirely ahistorical.

If we don’t have a break clause or a substantial escalator in the event of promotion, then our contract with Oxen is a disaster, and our commercial team have ****ed up.

If there’s an escalator then great, Oxen will be paying the going rate for a PL deal (albeit I’d rather we weren’t with them), if there’s a break clause then there’s no issue, we pay a small fee and get a much better kit deal.

I worry that we don’t have either and now we’re chasing our tails trying to avoid underselling our kit deal to the tinpot manufacturer down the road.

On the other hand aren't all the manufacturers of team shirts using the the same materials and getting them made in pretty much the same places?
A good design is a good design not matter which manufacturers logo is stuck on it.
Yes we may have undersold ourselves financially but only a few of us predicted that we would be in the Premier league next season. If we end up going with Oxen it may be that we are getting on the escalator at the ground floor and the only way is up.
They certainly have a wide range of rovers stuff which seems to sell.

Oxen I honestly think will do a pretty good job, but in an ideal world i'd pick one of:

Admiral
Umbro
Avec
Matchwinner
Matchwinner went bust in 2025, Avec only really make kits for amateur teams, even Admiral don't do club kits in any significant way (I think Burton Albion are the only league club they're still doing).

It will all come out in the wash. If someone did a deal when promotion was a realistic possibility and they had not put something in place either to bin Oxen off or make them pay through the nose for a Premier League season then they should not be working for the club any more. Its basic stuff.

A bit like the city badge on my Adidas shirt it came out in the wash separately from the shirt. Glued on badges ffs Whatever happened to embroidery?

Clubs want shirts quicker than ever, embroidery is a lengthy process. Even stitched on woven badges takes much longer than heat applied so unfortunately they are becoming more and more popular.
