I haven't listened to the pod yet so, based on what you're saying, I wonder if Baz means £80/90m spread over three years (for example) or £80/90m per year for the next few years. Can't see it being the latter, surely?

I don't think Baz knows the true number but is estimating. I haven't listened either so no idea.

Even if we do only spend 80/90m it would leave us a reasonable amount of cash for paying off Ehab (sorry Balkan..) and potentially investing in the Academy/training ground.

The former player thing may be because it's a name people know and have seen what they can do in the Premier league. Safer than Pera Peric from the Croatian league.

Regarding Robertson why leave Liverpool to go to Spurs? In my view he either stays at Liverpool or goes off piste and outside the box could be us or somewhere in Scotland.
Is Robbo not a Celtic fan?
If so, I can see him heading there.

I'm really excited to see who we try to sign, but I really hope we do also invest in the academy and training ground rather than blow it all on a few vanity years for Acun.

If we averaged £15m a player we'd only sign 6 new players, so I can absolutely see £80/90m being the case when you mix together some cheaper squad players and more expensive certified Premier League players.

Ulker is chucking a few quid in; there's an understanding that the amount of spending needed to build a squad for this league is higher than Acun can manage alone. He'll get some backing.

I know Brady and OLM have both said it, but just to be clear, Bowen has been wanted by Liverpool since last Summer. He opted to stay in the last two transfer windows to help repay West Ham, but Liverpool see him as the successor to Salah. Forget him coming back, I'm 99% sure he'll be a Liverpool player come the end of the transfer window.

You'll absolutely see some Turkish national team players arrive, good ones. You'll also no doubt see us sign players from Croatia and Bosnia. Zambrano and Borys will be coming but will be loaned back to Maribor to start with, I'd have thought.

The longest we have survived in the PL is two years. How do you target going beyond that? Some clubs yo yo. Some clubs slip into oblivion (Luton) and others have stayed up for years (Leicester in the past).

I know, I just don't see why he would go to another Premier league team unless it was a better one and those that are better wouldn't want him.

He had a verbal agreement with Spurs so was clearly happy to go there, but guess he might end up elsewhere. I was just responding to you saying he could stay at Liverpool.

I hope we have the expertise to use the Brentford, Bournemouth & Brighton strategy for signing players & not just toss in a bunch of random players that makes us look like an excited kid in a sweet shop.

I was putting myself in his shoes. He's won loads of stuff with Liverpool and nearing the end of his career so he could stay there till he retires and be a club legend, he could leave and go to a former club or favorite club who he feels he owes or could reward or he goes to another Premier league club who are unlikely to win anything and celebrate finishing 17th for the second year in a row like they've won the champions league.

He's already a club legend at Liverpool.

Going back to the FA game with Chelsea. I thought the gulf was extraordinary. At the time I said, how could we ever compete with that week in week out with our current squad? Stronger, taller, more agile, more athletic, fitter. How do we close that gap without wholesale changes?
And Sunderland just did them 2-1

He’s not going to come.
Why would he?
He knows he did great for us, and is still appreciated by us.
Returning to a club you were fantastic for can only really go one way so why would you bother risking that?

How did it go for Windass? For Campbell? There's a few instances where it's gone reasonably well I would have thought.
