Maybe the migration figures are being balanced....because of the skilled people pouring out of the country to more favourable situations.....those that stay are unskilled with no options elsewhere.

This has nothing to do with Remain UK......these figures come from..........The Office of National Statistics.

People are emigrating from the UK in record numbers ...with provisional estimates showing 642,000 people leaving in the year December 2025.....Emigration of British nationals reached approximately 252,000....while net migration for EU and British citizens has turned negative .....meaning more are leaving than arriving.

The recent UK trend and the global context highlight several specific drivers and destinations for this movement.

Top destinations for British Expats are......Australia...New Zealand...the UAE...Canada...& the USA.......for highly skilled professionals

Despite the complications post-Brexit ...popular destinations include Spain...France...& Portugal.....though some EU citizens have also been returning to the continent from the UK.

The Office for National Statistics...2026.....(not Remain UK figures).

So who are staying then.....can I suggest those with no skills or abilities and living off the tax payers and giving nothing back to this country.

Well firstly net migration is falling as per my previous post and that’s due to reduced immigration not increasing emigration.

The biggest reduction is apparently in the lower categories of skills and that’s likely to be a problem for hospitals, care homes social services etc.

Meanwhile, https://news.sky.com/story/uk-faces...-young-people-rewired-by-smartphones-13547229

So If you think falling immigration is a necessarily good thing, think again.

I am well aware where the stats came from. My comment that no one from Reform should be believed on any topic was a general and all-encompassing one. Crooks, fraudsters and racists the lot of them.

This is another one with issues. They are so easy to find.

I’m surprised they let her in given her skin colour. What do you think? Perhaps the sun-bed habit is recent.

Spent the afternoon watching sport on the telly......first was WOMENS football....Charlton v Leicester.....second was WOMENS cricket....England v NZ and third was WOMENS football....Barcelona v OL Lyonnes.

Hmmm there does seem to be a constant running through all these.

US President Donald Trump has said Iran is "getting a lot closer" to reaching an agreement with the US on the war as Tehran also signalled progress had been made in the last week.

BBC News.....23/05/2026.

Progress to Trump doesn't exist....progress to Iran means extending their grip on the "Strait of Hormuz" area.

Any rate Trump has moved on to Cuba.....getting bored with Iran.

not606 not obtainable this morning....but ok now....what is going on.....it is the only website that I cannot get at times.

Ah it's back on my phone. Never have a problem on my PC.

Yes Trump is expecting progress as "the document is almost complete". That translates as "not signed".

Ooh I'm looking forward all the final round Premier League games today plus the Canadian GP. I'm OK with the latter is my other half is also an F1 fan.

There's also IPL Indian cricket, Men's T20 Blast.

Bolton v Stockport is on now. Golf... Horse Racing...

Get Sky Sports, you know it makes sense.

Ex SNP Chief Executive Peter Murrell embezzled over £400,000 from Party funds over many years.

It is quite astounding on what he bought over those years.......

1.....A Motorhome worth....£124,550.
2.....VW Golf worth £32,989.
3.....Jaguar I-Pace worth £81,277.
4.....Fountain Pen worth £4,225.
5.....Salt & Pepper Grinder worth £2,618.
6.....Watches worth £thousands.
7.....£thousands on other numerous other items....an endless list.

He pleaded guilty and was led away in hang-cuffs to be sentenced next month.

In the meanwhile his estranged wife Nicola Sturgeon was party leader.....so the two top jobs in the SNP Government where held by a husband and wife team.....surely alarm bells should have been ringing.

Nicola Sturgeon was questioned by Police for hours on her husbands embezzlement....but came away with a clean slate.

BBC News...25/05/2026.

How can your husband buy a Motorhome worth an eighth of a £million and not wonder (knowing his wages) how the hell he paid for it....PLUS Jaguar I-Pace....VW Golf.....plus jewellery that she wore.....and the huge amount of other items worth thousands and thousands of pounds......AND CLAIM that she had no idea where he was getting it from.....GOBSMACKED doesn't even start to cover it.

It's amazing how gullable some people can be. There are some who think Farage is a pucka fellow who wasn't given a bung by a billionaire and it was just a prezzie to make sure he was safe. And an endless list of other things.

Two excellent examples of how this Labour government is self-destructing. God knows what will happen if we get a Reform rabble in office.

Moral of this first story: if you keep on ramping up taxes, sooner of later the amount you collect goes down and enormous damage is done.

And here's where it goes:

Excuse me, but wouldn't parents have to pay for those things if the child was at home?

This is the second:

This is completely wrong. British firms must compete with the best in the world and win contracts on merit. Taxpayers' money should be spent in the most efficient way possible, not on subsidising UK firms and ending up with second-class results.

I read a piece yesterday about the huge sums of money thrown down the drain on the RAF's Typhoon fighter.

Buy British is very desirable but only for the best kit at the best prices.

It's getting a little sticky today......got in the car lunchtime and the temperature read 100f.....the greenhouse with the door and all the windows open was 115f.

Kept all the doors and windows closed indoors....and kept the temperature down to 29c = 85.2f in real money.....it's warmer than that outside......BBC is saying Orpington has dropped to 31C= 87.8f by 1700hrs.

Kitchen backdoor in full sun and it has expanded....making it hard to close.....got to slam it.... to shut. it at the moment.

Still 29C in the kitchen here: south facing with patio type doors facing the sun. Max of 32C in Plymouth today apparently.

Must be hot: other half left her scarf at home. Wait ‘til she finds out I’ve turned the central heating off. :emoticon-0103-cool: I might even be allowed to put the air con on in the car! :emoticon-0136-giggl

Our daughter is in Corfu. It’s only been 29C there today.

Cooler tomorrow.

My daughter and her husband ....gone up to Edinburgh today for a few days (by train)......she text me excitingly telling me it was only 65f when they arrived.

Here we go again. Having screwed up the market for entry level jobs by raising the minimum wage, giving new recruits full employment rights too soon and raising employers NI, they’re about to screw up the market for leasehold flats. And this when AI is offering an alternative to entrt level jobs.

On top of those demand-side factors, on the supply-side, we have a generation of teenagers who are only able to sit in their bedrooms on Tik-Tok all day.

Now this.

Speed up £250 cap on leasehold ground rent, MPs urge https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2111kylgeo

Let’s do to the property market what’s happened in employment.

Not everyone’s favourite I know but he’s right and compared to the rabble we have now, he’s a political giant.

Labour has 'no coherent plan' for country, says Blair https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx211r9nm3lo

I hear that in addition to Reform, we have Restore, a one man band run by Rupert Lowe.

It’s thought this may split the facsist vote to Reform detriment

If anyone else is thinking of starting a racist party, perhaps could be “Resent” or “******” or, more accurately “Reprehensible”.

The criminal investigation into the Post office Horizon IT scandel could be delayed by 5 YEARS unless it receives millions of pounds in extra funding.....police chiefs have warned.

BBC News...27/05/2026.

Doesn't it all leave you just numb the whole scale of the cock-up and the way these people have been treated.

It strikes me as being a complete waste of time and money. Compensation has been paid to the victims and they’ve been publicly exonerated.

Nobody builds a defective computer system deliberately. This is incompetence not illegality.

Apparently nobody in the Post Office or the software developers seemed to grasp the significance of double entry book keeping. It seems all the balancing entries for the “fraud” were sitting in a vast suspense account that nobody tried to reconcile or clear out. Book Keeping For Beginners Volume 1 Chapter 1.

Just been putting a line of washing out on the far line (we have a nearer rotary line)......and I kept hearing a noise behind me....I kept looking behind me and couldn't determine what the noise was.....then I turned around at the right moment to discover that next door had a water spray to and froing ....watering his lawn and borders ( 8am in the morning) ....and it was set a little too far towards the dividing fence and was spraying over my side on to the gravel between the fence and my path by the line......luckily not quite reaching my washing......as I've said before he has spent thousands having his front and back gardens landscaped.

My garage driveway is now restricted by a hedge around his front garden.....and it is growing well.....meaning that I have to park well over one side to be able to get out of the car ( I prefer reversing in) because the door will not open fully without bashing his hedge. His is the only front garden in the cul-de-sac that isn't open plan......I'm not sure the council would approve of what he has done.......no roof extensions are allowed either.

These shrubs that he has in the front...I know cost £39.99 each....and he must have between 30 and 40 of them .....plus trees in the centre of his lawns.......and his back garden has new trees also (already 6-7ft high when bought)......plus many flowers.....and an illuminated oasis border in the centre of his rear lawn.....He has installed a water tap out the front and permanently has a hose reel there......so he is constantly watering front and rear gardens during dry weather.....since the beginning of March you can count the wet days that we have had on one hand......we do pay our water bill by litres used.

There are hundreds of sub-postmasters that have not been "fully" compensated yet.....and still have criminal records against there names......no one in the Post Office seems to grasp the full extent of hurt and pain that this has done to these conscientious sub-postmasters....who are still trying to prove to the Post Office the full cost that they have suffered and the Post Office are disputing unfairly.

Some have committed suicide.....some are broken health wise and the majority are still out of pocket financially.

Only the ones that are known through the TV video and noted court cases have properly been recompensed by the PO.
