Anyone who planted beans or squash in my allotment lost them in the frost just over a week ago.
That’ll be the Global Warming and Climate Crisis :emoticon-0105-wink:

Or are you saying that when it was frosty you ripped out the beans and squash that others had planted in your plot ?

Eh?
Ne'er cast a clout til May be out.
Leave your coat on until May is over. :emoticon-0138-think

A wet May and a fine June
Makes the farmer whistle a merry tune
is another one I like, and I got this one right.
The soil is bone dry and you have to go pretty deep to get even the slightest sign of moisture, so the farmer will be whistling Leonard Cohen songs.

There's still some moisture in the soil up here. In preparation for bedding planting I turned a border over this week, quite easy really. I'm late this year as we've put new fencing behind it, I usually plant our bedding out in late April and risk it, not got unlucky yet. :emoticon-0138-think
