Indeed. Canada was one of George's better circuits so a DNF there was particularly concerning for him. 17 races to go. If Merc remain dominant and did 1 and 2 at each race with no DNFs George would need to win 12 of them, ignoring sprints in that basic math. They won't always be 1 and 2, that is for certain. Kimi is showing youthful persistence, I hope this doesn't go to his head, he needs to stay cool. George also needs to keep his mojo up. A DNF for Kimi is George's best option.
Of course, the hot compression testing comes into effect before Monaco. We have yet to see if there is an impact from that.

I seem to remember the commentators noted the same, that we weren't seeing all the action. It was quite interesting at the front but there were other things going on too.

It has been woeful for so long.

Everything is centred around being zoomed in on sponsors as opposed to giving us actual perception of speed.

As you can tell, I’m less active so far this year and a bit tired of the direction it’s been going in. The camera work, the comms, some of the engine regulations. It’s all a bit too false for me.

I read today that Wolff is already thinking about “dialling down” the battle between the two Merc drivers.

We have 17 races to go FFS. ‍

In the end, the sport has to be sport, if it is to retain interest.

Potential for some great racing but yeah, lots to work on still.
