Diarra is a worry . I hope he comes back and looks the part next year as he has not lived up to expectation so far, no were near in fact.
My take on Diarra mate.
He took the longest out of the new lot to gel
Then got injured
Then AfCon
Then had to gel again.
He’ll be the Diarra we expected next season, and will show the PL how good he is.

And yesterday’s performance was superb, cool, calm and skilful as ****.
Rile on the new signings with the extra sponsorship deals Europe will bring.
I’m a happy clapper proved right.

There’s been flashes and in those flashes he’s been superb.

If we get sustained periods at the Everton level he’s a baller

Who laughed at the 5 year plan? Back to the prem and qualify for Europe. <laugh>
I did!! I wasn't really bothered about how long it took, I just wanted to see us going in the right direction and was happy enough to see that happening.

But more is coming.

Some things just look right. If this was another club we would be predicting, even expecting some mighty things to come, as everything is there and all the right things are being done by all the right people.

But it isn't another club. It's us and more is coming, and if we can't get carried away after this, we should go to the bowls or take up pottery.

It's not "One day" anymore.

Just thought I'd offer my apologies to @Smug in Boots @gelders pie @kirkyboy @safcyellowbelly and others for leaving the fans museum early yesterday, the craic was good and it was great to put faces to names in here but around the stadium when the team bus came in was absolutely brilliant - it was a mini Trafalgar Square with the noise and flares in abundance. The grandson was absolutely buzzing and what made it even better was that atmosphere outside continued inside the stadium for the full 102 minutes.

Here's to the next meet up and hoping that the hangovers are not too bad this morning

The worst grappling was the great corner we took with the short pass from Xhaka, square to the edge of the box the back though the lines for Xhaka. He blew his whistle after the ball was in play, made his retake a corner which Chelsea had no clue about, and they then knew the plan!

****ing ridiculous, pretty sure Xhaka had the ball back when he blew his whistle as well!!

Yeah, noticed that. It looked a very good move that caught them out but he stopped play but didn't give owt!

If anyone knows someone with a new signed Onien shirt give him a good slap. Scumbag......

Please help this poor family:

A Sunderland mother has spoken of their anger after her grandson had a signed match-worn shirt stolen moments after receiving it following today’s game.

The supporter said their grandson had been left heartbroken after player Luke O’Nien’s wife kindly returned with a shirt for him after the match.

According to the account, the youngster was “over the moon” after being handed the shirt, before a man reportedly came up behind him, grabbed it, and ran off.

Several people attempted to chase the suspect, but he managed to escape.

The grandparent described the incident as “disgusting” and said they hoped the person responsible would face karma for ruining such a special moment for a young supporter.

Please can we get Luke O'Nien to see this and dead out we are all gutted for the lad.

Judging by most of the replies it looks like another of those "African fan" accounts, a West African person in Africa who attached themselves to a team because they've been successful and had a fair few African players in the last few years. The problem with these is that they aren't that knowledgeable and are very myopic about what team they follow. I've seen a lot over the years recently, nearly all Arsenal, Chelsea or Man U "fans", annoying but easily dismissed.

Saying that, their fans in the stadium were a bit myopic as well, signing "your not fit to referee", but to me that's just a "big club" not getting away with what they normally are used to. Kavanagh was in one of his poor modes yesterday, but if he was poor to them he was equally poor to us, giving them a lot of soft free kicks and how sideshow Bob didn't get booked for a ridiculous off the ball pull back in the first half is beyond belief.

he's too young to own a football club.

doing it on the cheap cos he has got no money.

no experience, he will 'play it' like he plays on the playstation.

aww, got his mummy bankrolling him.

...and so many other comments.

KLD has proved them all wrong, he has taken a club from the depths of the third division to europe, he has listened to and taken advice and even if things looked bad he stuck to his thoughts of being sustainable, not 'buying' success but building a squad with some shrewd buys and better sales which allowed the club to spend (and spend well) yet remain within the 'spending rules' and having plenty spare if needed.

of course he had help but how many young lads would simply go hell for leather to get results and struggle, this young lad is man enough to listen to those around him and i believe he personally spoke to granit and persuaded him to join sunderland...as well as the lads and RLB have done, KLD has been the catalyst.

i hope people remember this when they take that big bite of humble pie as they also cast thier minds back to when those two chancers were here.

Just as well Stewarr Donald is hanging around to guide him and help him out as he is too young and inexperienced to do it on his own - Kevin Phillps when he first bought in!

Needs sharing on all media platforms and especially the local Sunderland pages. Someone will know who this is and hopefully shame him Even better if someone could name the b*stard.

Disgusting. Nicking it from a kid. Would love it be caught in camera and the person banned from the ground for life! No place for that on a day like yesterday!

Shearer is just proving himself to be a bad loser.

Sent this message to one distant relative last night

“Top dogs in the NORTH EAST!! Thanks for the six points, Europe would not have been possible without your help ”

His reply was “Enjoy it while it lasts! You’ve had a strong season I’ll give you that but let’s see what you look like after playing 3 games a week and everyone buys your good players in the summer happens to us all”

Still waiting to see a few others but I am sure we will manage to survive 3 games a week. After all the Visitors really improved when they were knocked out of Europe. Didn’t they !!!!
ask him why the richest club in the world with the world's greatest manager and the great Dan Burn couldn't do it

Biggest footballing achievement from Sunderland in my lifetime. Bigger, I would argue than the two seventh places in a row.

I was dreading playing in the tinpot conference league, I just personally placed no value in it. Europa league is a different matter all together. Hope all of you who get to games on the continent next year have a ****ing ball.

KLD is the best thing that's happened to this club in decades.

Looks like 7th place is worth around £150m in prize money, thats basically covered our spending this season so financially I think we should be fine to make a few big signings again.

Europa League is worth about £3.5m per home game in the group stages, and we are guaranteed 4 of those even if we don't get out of the group.

Makes you realise how incredible the 7th placed finish is for the stability of the club.
