They're both willing.....

I wonder where the new rules play into things with them. For instance would they be better off sponsoring us or directly investing in the club? I actually think the former.. guess we'll see but exciting times and I think any neutral thinking we'll go straight back down with a whimper doesn't know this club.

I think Acun will be desperate to get a few of the top Turkish players in, and it makes sense, sells the club to Turkish football fans too. Simply being in the premier league makes that a whole lot more accessible.
100%, I hate the EPL, but the sponsorship and coverage it gives us is invaluable and I really think it will make Acun look really good to people he has been “promising”. He’s a bit wild, but I think it’s actually worked out for us.

I think we'll see some pretty big changes this window. I suspect another 10 incoming, a few of the existing will help make up the core of the team, but I don't see many making the cut.

We need competition/backup/support for Pandur, Coyle, Giles and McBurnie. At least another CB, at least another DM and a couple of CMs.

I can see Acun trying to pull off something special from Turkey; Barış Alper Yılmaz, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, etc.

It's also going to depend on wages - what we don't want with the new financial rules in the Championship is a load of players we can't shift if we end up relegated again. Muriqi is a decent enough player, but he's similar to McBurnie in his style of play and he'll be 34 next season, so would the wages we pay justify his purchase (even with a year left on his contract)? Probably not. If I was going to buy a striker I'd be buying Vipotnik at Swansea.

When West Ham were relegated yesterday, I immediately thought of James Ward-Prowse being a great signing, but then I remembered he spent half the season on loan at Burnley and was dropped by Nuno in September. But that's the sort of PL signing I'd target, as others have said we need that Thudd/Livermore style combo in the centre to help out Slater. I'd start with these:

Archie Brown from Fener (English LB, great cover for Giles, gets both goals and assists).
Benjamin Nygren at Celtic (can play across multiple positions, intelligent player)
Omar Rekik at Maribor (might as well plunder them, he's their best defender and we will need CB cover)
Zan Vipotnik at Swansea (striker that will be useful if we go down as knows the division, hopefully can make the step up)
Tiago Dantas at Rijeka (Serg likes him, I like him, you'll like him, though might not be needed if we got Nygren).

We'd still need a back up keeper, a RB and a DM. But now our shopping range has changed somewhat, those options aren't as limited as they were.

That top one sounds nailed on already

I’d be looking at a punt on a few Championship players that could deliver next season. Agyemang at Derby would be a right handful (He’s injured at the moment) quick and massive. Toure at Norwich - great goals to games ratio.

It will be interesting to see how it gets spent. Already have our hands tied a bit with having to give ehab £40m straight off the bat. I can’t see Acun even thinking about relegation let alone planning for it but he is going to have to pull some rabbits out the hat if we are to be competitive with our limited budget.

Need to pay 2m for omur
3m for destan
2m for lundstram
3M for hughes
5m for giles

40m to ehab

All promotion bonuses
So our kitty is almost spent before the windows even opened

Muriqi bagged 23 goals in La Liga... would be incredible business for us and would certainly be at the level in the prem. Like to see us try our hats in the European market, over paying for top championship players seems to get u relegated, copy the Sunderland, Bournemouth,Brentford, Brighton model. All I know is this is about to be crazy but I dont think for a second Acun will want to consolidate, out of our full team only 4 or so are probably at the level with a few more probable squaddies.
Serg mentioned Sunderland is the blue print to follow. Pleased if they go to Europe Africa and South America. The odd Asian player would help too.
