It's also going to depend on wages - what we don't want with the new financial rules in the Championship is a load of players we can't shift if we end up relegated again. Muriqi is a decent enough player, but he's similar to McBurnie in his style of play and he'll be 34 next season, so would the wages we pay justify his purchase (even with a year left on his contract)? Probably not. If I was going to buy a striker I'd be buying Vipotnik at Swansea.
When West Ham were relegated yesterday, I immediately thought of James Ward-Prowse being a great signing, but then I remembered he spent half the season on loan at Burnley and was dropped by Nuno in September. But that's the sort of PL signing I'd target, as others have said we need that Thudd/Livermore style combo in the centre to help out Slater. I'd start with these:
Archie Brown from Fener (English LB, great cover for Giles, gets both goals and assists).
Benjamin Nygren at Celtic (can play across multiple positions, intelligent player)
Omar Rekik at Maribor (might as well plunder them, he's their best defender and we will need CB cover)
Zan Vipotnik at Swansea (striker that will be useful if we go down as knows the division, hopefully can make the step up)
Tiago Dantas at Rijeka (Serg likes him, I like him, you'll like him, though might not be needed if we got Nygren).
We'd still need a back up keeper, a RB and a DM. But now our shopping range has changed somewhat, those options aren't as limited as they were.
