I'd be disgusted if they were allowed to play tbh.

Never mind all the other ways you can cheat, from pulling someone's hair to diving ...

... those are all, in some ways, the heat of the moment.

Southampton sent someone the length of the country to attempt to gain an unfair advantage, fact.

There is also the knock on effect of claims from Boro, Ipswich and Oxford who will go all out against the EFL and Southampton.

At least 3 times probably more
Exactly mate, there comes a point when something becomes 'systematic' ...

... if someone pulls hair, or dives, on a regular basis people would have zero sympathy if they were sanctioned.

So why should Southampton merit any sympathy, they cheated to defraud Middlesboro.

Exclusive: Hull City are consulting lawyers to see if they have a case to be promoted straight to the Premier League after Southampton (subject to an appeal) were expelled from the Championship playoffs.

Hull are unhappy at the prospect of facing Middlesbrough at Wembley having spent over a week preparing to play Southampton.

Saints appeal is this evening and they will argue the punishment is too harsh.

Hull's players had a pre-planned day off today and will return tomorrow with either two days to prepare for Boro, or potentially learn the final is against Southampton again.

Hull are leaving legal avenues open, including the prospect of a challenge after the final.

Kick Hull out too then, if they want to play silly legal buggers..

Sort it out on the pitch for God's sake.

This appeal from Southampton is self indulgent, frivolous and provacative, not to mention aggressively inconvenient to Hull and Boro.

They are absolutely and clearly guilty. They do not even deny this, only dissemble in a weak and inaccurate club statement.

A further 10 point sanction would be appropriate.

Hearing that most of the players will be suing the club and putting transfer requests in.
What's the feeling on the ground there about the appeal? The club seem pretty bullish about it (or are at least giving that appearance).

If they were totally unaware I'd have to agree with the players.

The club have jeopardised their careers, thrown away a PL place and condemned them to the Championship.

Their manager and his staff have conned them and the sad thing is, they were good enough without the cheating.

That's bullshit as they knew before the 1st leg of the Boro V Southampton game this could happen

Agree, just goes to show though, that the authorities should have moved quicker that making a decision on a 9am meeting on Tuesday 19th

They should have at least been banned pending an investigation.

I personally would have banned them the day it all came out. Southampton pulling on the heartstrings to try and get it all squashed. You could see it coming a mile off.

Need someone from the legal world to advise but, I thought the FA, EUFA and FIFA tightly controlled all such matters as internal and they cannot go through civil courts . If so it will get shutdown pretty quickly after the appeal.
They are a law unto themselves and if any of you have played and had to deal with just the ocal FA you will know how totalitarian it is ..

I think they should have stopped Southampton playing the second leg and nailed them by then, other than that i fully back the decision.

Think EUFA should get involved in any case outside of the current pending decision with Southampton.
It has been stated I understand that this practice of standing behind trees spying on other teams is pretty common practice in Europe.
I would think there is 'red flags' that need to be looked or at least that statement rescinded.

Surely thats not real? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Why was he hiding behind a tree then if he thought it was ok, and why did he take a change of clothes with him and try and change his appearance. <doh> .

Ive just read when he spied on Ipswich he was wearing an Eastleigh fc training kit because Eastleigh had a game that day and they were using Ipswich's training pitch to play it so he was trying to pretend he was part of that club.
