It definitely raises at least a few minor questions about the run too imo.

Everyone waxing lyrical about how great he is at adapting to opposition. Players saying publicly how detailed he is on set pieces etc. and this could be a big reason why.
Yeah. I'm not questioning the players' efforts and impact on games at all. Think the run was 90% down to them. But, Tonda has cheated, and that alone undermines the achievement.

Speaking of amateur hour...

The fact the club let this go out yesterday with the caption 'take a sneak peek' knowing we'd be admitting to spying 3 times is genuinely astonishing.

Not suggesting the writer or person who hits publish would know that, but surely ffs at a time like this you're checking and double checking everything...

I’d all be careful to jump to conclusions too still, we have to remember that watching opposition training isn’t against the rules… every team does it.. it’s just within the 72 hours, so if Tonda was simply sending analysts to watch training and didn’t know it was within the 72 hours then in fairness he’s just unfortunate. Same goes for players, I doubt any of them had a clue from a pre match report that they were cheating

I had loved Tonda for what I thought he had achieved.

The FA may well ban him, but we should take action first. Sack him plus all others involved.

Harsh punishment by the EFL, but I couldn't give a toss about an appeal.

I have got a Wembley ticket for Saturday but I don't want to go now. I don't think we have anything the celebrate even if we were to win an appeal and beat Hull.

Given that most on here (including me) think that it’s been happening way more than they’re admitting, the question is, is he that good without the spying?

I’m sorry, but watching training within min 72hrs vs outside of 72hrs barely makes any difference in my eyes.

It’s an incredibly minor infraction.

The hysteria is way over the top. I’d barely even call it cheating personally. (Of course it is because they added the rule). But compared to what goes on every weekend in football, it’s a ridiculously small offence.

Tonda is a class manager

Thing is, up to 72 hours before the game, it's not against the rules. So it probably happens in every single dressing room in the country every week.

Yeah you're right, and I'm mindful that Tonda's confession might be trying to say that not all instructions to record training were within 72hrs, but I think it actually makes it look even worse.

Tbf we don't know if doing so outside the 72 hours would still bring a charge of the 'utmost faith' regulation.

Something the EFL should clarify.

Been thinking about this….

If you’d been caught spying 50% of the way through the season, what would the punishment have been.

With goal difference even a 9 point deduction would mean you are still in the playoffs

The EFL have set a strange precedent as the 4 points are for the following season, not the current. They’ve then kicked you out the playoffs, surely that means if anyone is found guilty again they’re eliminated from the playoffs, if yes then Wrexham would be next in line.

The punishment is going to be extremely hard to replicate for whoever gets caught next time, specially if it’s midway through a season

So Tonda has admitted guilt. He has to go, I'm afraid. I was happy to stand by him until the facts came out (innocent until proven guilty), but now he's owned up to it he has to go and without any severance pay. I can't seem him getting a job in English football again.

Are there any positives?

* A chance to get rid of some cancerous board members without having to pay golden goodbyes.
* No VAR in the Championship.
* We can do the double over Pompey.
* If we keep hold of the players (and that may be shaky, I'll admit) then they know they have the talent to challenge for the league, and they'll have a point to prove. The right experienced manager could definitely get a tune out of them.
