Does Boro have any more images of Will Salt (or any other SFC employee) at their training ground?
Can't have, else it would have been splashed all over the media. The bigger issue regarding punishment is if we have done it before.

They don’t have any pictures of him in the training ground at all, the photo that’s been released is on a golf course nearby they overlooks the training ground

I think that the case presented by Boro against us did feel like it was getting progressively more serious, especially when 4nr clubs in addition to Boro were alleged to have had concerns over spying. This number was supposed to increase but, as thing stands, I believe that only two have come forward and even then, we do not know the quality of the information. Had more clubs come forward and the Boro accusations had legs, I could see the members of EPL all calling for serious redress including expulsion.

As I said yesterday, we are now at a point where the accusations are starting to come across as a little bit ridiculous. No one is suggesting that they are on a scale suggested last week. I think the expulsion option was mentioned on BBC prior to the second leg. The situation has moved on from then. My confidence in the case has vacillated over the last ten days. With more "evidence " coming from the NE, I just feel that the case has been over-egged. Assuming that the location of the spy in relation with the training does seem to be correct, the incident with the mobile phone would only merit a fine for the whole stupidity of the exercise. The fact that the "spying" was done by an intern with mobile seems out of proportion with the kind of points deduction and fines being mooted.

Yeah if there was nothing in it it wouldn't have got this far where the EFL are apparently acknowledging the risk the final may be postponed.

Pure delusion to think otherwise.
If the final was to be postponed then it would have already. Tickets wouldn't be sold by Hull. Saints wouldn't be selling tickets.

If the EFL are allowing tickets to be sold then the final is going ahead as planned. Postponing it at such a late stage would cause huge problems for everyone. Imagine refunding tickets and travel for 90,000 people? It's a logistical and PR nightmare.

Also, the evidence is thin. Boro have a weak case. There are too many questions with what they have put out publicly.

Wouldn’t say Boro have a weak case. It’s pretty clear we had an employee filming near their training ground. The question is what should the punishment be for that, and is there any evidence that we’ve done it more than this occasion

I'm not saying it will be postponed (though there'd be no refund on travel and refunding tickets wouldn't be that difficult), just that if there was nothing in it at all then it wouldn't be acknowledged as a possibility even.

Why do you say Boro's case is weak? We clearly had someone there when we shouldn't have done and therefore are in breach of the regulations.

The other issue isn’t necessarily the refunds - though these are an issue. It’s the potential chargebacks. Refunds and chargebacks are two different things

With refunds there aren’t necessarily extra transaction fees, but it is virtually unheard of for the merchant to get their original transaction fees paid back. Tiny amount but not on 90,000 refunds.

Chargebacks are where you go to your card company direct to get a refund direct for goods. If as a merchant you get too many of these this affects your fees and even ability to take payments.

Again on the odd transaction not an issue but on 90,000 tickets it is an issue

We're still waiting to find out if he acted alone, or was told to do it by those above him.

Would be covered by our fine presumably

I don't think it will be postponed to be clear, but it quite obviously wouldn't have got this far if there was no case to answer.

Hoped we’d have a decision by today….based on the claim it would be Tuesday or earlier. Couldn’t believe it would be held until Tuesday. It’s a simple case…an employee of Saints was near Boro’s ground with a camera. A rogue agent or, more likely, someone who was asked to be there by his immediate line manager (or higher). Rules are clear…only question is extent of punishment after facts are examined.

I’m wondering if Saints have dragged this out (as they were entitled to do) hoping the final gets played because EFL won’t want it cancelled. If we get into the EPL next Saturday, we will be out of the jurisdiction of the league (at least for one season),
