Excellent. Don't hear a lot from the Trust these days (perhaps in part because there thankfully isn't as much to be active about these days) but it's good to see that we still have supporter groups capable of making our voice heard.
Good letter raising valid points ...but imo should also have included support for simply kicking Southampton out and awarding us the game. To me that is part of the correct punishment as there is no way they should have the chance to get promoted now.

According to the Boro forums, there is some sort of voice note going round from insiders at the club saying a decision will be announced today and that Southampton will be expelled with Boro going forward to play us, either by way of 3-0 forfeit for home leg, or simple disqualification from the play-off final. Probably bollocks but there you go.

That was one of the many little 'perks' the RL club enjoyed when the KC first opened. Don't think the arrangement worked the other way round though. Just seen OLM has already answered this, and as he says these freebies were rightly stopped. No such thing as a free lunch.
To be fair when I met the wife her Dad was coaching Hull and we occasionally went to City together with his tickets from FC. I cant remember anyone else form Hull there, I dont think they even used them.

There should be a good working relationship between tennants, but 250 is excessive.

I'd be very very surprised if they let Southampton sell tickets if there was going to be a final decision today.

We all know the reasons for that. It was not a normal attendance or a true reflection of the level of support for this club. This is another of those things where we play ourselves down excessively where other clubs' fans would talk themselves up.
when Wednesday fans were taking the piss we told them it was because we were used to going to Wembley

I think the playoffs should go ahead and the whole procedure run to a normal time frame. Punishment can then be meted out fairly after a fair disciplinary process by which time everyone know their position. If they are promoted, a whopping great multi million fine to be shared amongst EFL clubs. If they stay down, a points deduction. Plus a 1 year ban from football for any implicated staff.

That is the most sensible course of action to me. A points deduction running any further than this season might as well not even bother, absolutely pointless.
By moving the game we are also being punished, as a club and as a fan base. I'm hoping our local MPs are on the case!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

There's a voicemail circulating, with a guy claiming to be involved in Boro's submissions, saying that Saints will get a six point deduction (whenever they're next in the Championship, as the PL refused to apply it there) and a £4.5m fine.

Probably completely made up.

There were lots of things we could have mentioned (impact on our players, Boro, Wrexham even, what should happen to Southampton) but we felt it best to focus on the impact on Hull City fans as we felt it was getting a bit lost in the general hubbub. We all just felt that saying something in this scenario was better than saying nothing, regardless of what impact it does or doesn't have.

The 4.5 million fine going to you know where.... the luncheon, international trips, hotels, expenses of ...... THE EFL ...

Indeed, if the fixture did get rearranged, the fine should be put towards reimbursing fans travel now made useless. Instead it’ll be a more lavish Christmas piss up

Just a quick note. The HCST, OSC, Southern Supporters and Disabled Supporters Association have joined together to urge the EFL to abandon any plans to possibly shift the date of the final. It may be an entirely futile gesture, but any pressure we can apply to the EFL, any way we can make the supporters' voices heard, the better. We will fight this for as long as it remains a possibility. The situation is grossly unfair on Hull City fans and as groups representing supporters we felt we needed to make a stand. Here's the statement:

We, the committees of the Hull City Supporters Trust, the Hull City Official Supporters Club, the Hull City Southern Supporters and the Hull City Disabled Supporters Association, register our strong opposition to the prospect of the Championship play-off final being postponed from Saturday May 23 to a later date.

The date of the play-off final has been on the calendar for the whole season, and thousands of Hull City fans have already made travel and accommodation plans based around that. They are completely blameless regarding the allegations against Southampton and should not be made to suffer as a result.

Moving the date of the final to the evening of Wednesday 27 May, as is being reported to be under consideration, would be unfair on many Hull City fans in other ways. This date falls in school half term, and many who will have kept Saturday 23 May free for several months will be on holiday at the later date, or will be unable to take time off work at such short notice. Young children, who will have been looking forward to seeing their club play at Wembley for the first time, may not be able to attend an evening kick off. This move would have a big economic impact on thousands of Hull City fans who have already paid hundreds of pounds in travel and accommodation costs, and would deny many more the opportunity to see their club at Wembley. This is grossly unfair. The Football League could and should have had a more robust system in place to deal with this eventuality, one that does not punish innocent fans who should be enjoying contemplating seeing their club play at the national stadium.

We urge the Football League to fulfil its moral responsibility towards the fans of Hull City AFC and confirm that the play-off date will remain on May 23 regardless of the outcome of the investigation into Southampton’s actions. Anything else will be a dereliction of its duties towards the fans, who, yet again, are the last to be considered in such situations. We fill the stadia through thick and thin, fair weather and foul. We are the people who provide the wherewithal for the clubs to exist, and make the English game so appealing globally, and we believe we speak for a vast majority of fans when we say that the Football League should get its priorities right and put fans over function.

Yours sincerely,

The chairs of the Hull City Supporters Trust, Hull City Official Supporters Club, the Hull City Southern Supporters, and the Hull City Disabled Supporters.
