The thing that I find utterly despicable, that the Daily Fail has completely destroyed a young kids career, even life over something he may, or may not of being instructed to do, but only last year, a Premier league player was accused of rape, and they didnt name him! (Yes I do know why)
If Boro do end up playing in the final, it's totally unjustified as they completely ****ed up their season. Nothing to do with spying. They got 4 points from us during the season, and should have quite comfortably beaten us in their home leg.
As for Steve Gibson, what a POS!

Yeah, generally speaking though the Fail has the morals of a psychopath.

I think we can safely say the punishment will be more than a £200k fine. I think a £1m fine would be quite severe compared to the potential advantage gained by sending a lad with an iPhone to stand just outside the training ground. I’m not worried by the EFL’S statement this afternoon and they will follow the path of least resistance (by keeping us in the final).

We must remember that Boro have nothing to lose by kicking up a storm - likewise the media know that sensationalising the situation will generate clicks and sell papers. However common sense will ultimately prevail.

I do hope you're right.

Nicky Butt hits out at Middlesbrough Spygate row
Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has weighed in on the current 'Spygate' row – taking aim at Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg in the process.

Speaking via Paddy Power, he said: "It's been going on for years. I remember when we first started playing in Europe, I was probably about 20, we used to always train the night before a game at the ground and the manager would never ever, ever do the real starting eleven.

"He'd always do a fake one. He'd never do set pieces, he'd have two star players limp off with ice packs on their hamstring because he was always thinking people were watching.

"People can say, ‘It's not right, it's cheating’. It's just what it is in high level football. Teams will know the starting eleven, you know all the players, you can just go and watch games anytime you want. They can see it all on WyScout.

"It's a bit stupid really. If Southampton need to watch Middlesbrough like this after a full season then the manager and all the recruitment team and all the scouting team should be sacked on the spot.

"They should know everything about them - there's no secrets in football. They know who's injured, they know who's not injured.

"Anyone who is 80 per cent fit to play will play in a semi-final second leg. It is a ruling in the FA, and I get it, but it's been going on for years and it will go on for years again.

"I don't see the problem with it. You can go and watch training at most grounds from a distance.

"Maybe some of the high level Premier League ones are like Fort Knox, but most grounds up and down the country and around the world you can get within 100 metres of a fence to watch training.

"What are you going to be able to tell the manager the next day? I know how to beat Middlesbrough because I've seen a lad do a little run down the side’.

"It's just bulls***, it's ridiculous. It’s so childish. It will happen with every single manager.

"But any manager that calls people cheats over it are hypocrites because they're doing exactly the same. Maybe not through their own eyes but through sending other people to watch it."
Completely with Butt on this one. Been absolutely blown out of proportion. Racism, sexism, crowd violence wouldn't get half as much publicity and nearly even as negative press. It's mad

Lincs against the world <laugh>
Absolutely.

There's not a single club in the entire football pyramid which hasn't cheated, which hasn't done dodgy dealings, which hasn't had unsavoury characters playing for them.

It's the ****ing hypocrisy mate- getting pelters from the likes of ****ing Sunderland fans is more than grating, so **** them all.

Oh no, an intern had an iPhone, we're the worst football club in history

Feel really sorry for Hull in all this
Nah, their fans are being pricks too
There are weirdos and trolls in every club…usually a tiny minority. I feel sorry for Hull and their fans….our position is taking up all the air space (though of course they are welcome to some of ours). Must affect their training to a certain amount. As far as I’m concerned, if not us…go Hull!

This is what I thought was the case. Which is also why I’m confused about all this talk of whistleblowers and Boro gathering evidence

It's because they are desperate to go up by any means possible, it doesn't matter that they bottled their season spectacularly, they lost out because of a nipper with a phone filming them from 150 yards away.
