Sunderland travel to the Hill-Dickinson Stadium to face Everton in the Premier League.
Last time out Sunderland drew with Manchester United and Everton drew with Palace
Sunderland were denied a rare win over Manchester United as visiting keeper Senne Lammens and the frame of the goal combined to keep the hosts at bay at the Stadium of Light. Noah Sadiki wasted Sunderland's best chance when he ran clear in the opening minutes. Lammens came out on top on that occasion, before the Belgian bravely dashed out to save at Brian Brobbey's feet and then keep out another effort from the Dutchman in the second half. Brobbey also set up Lutsharel Geertruida in the final stages, but his effort from the edge of the area thudded against the foot of a post.
It was harsh on Sunderland, on a day when Manchester United showed five changes to the side that beat Liverpool last week and toiled without veteran midfielder Casemiro.

Everton went ahead when Tarkowski shot home from close range after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's corner from the right was flicked on to the back post.
Sarr got the hosts level at Selhurst Park in the 34th minute when his deflected effort on the rebound found its way past Jordan Pickford.
A long pass from Tarkowski put Beto on the ball and running towards goal. The striker managed to hold off Maxence Lacroix before turning the Palace defender and sliding the ball through the legs of Eagles goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Palace pushed for an equaliser and it came when Everton failed to deal with a Tyrick Mitchell cross, with the ball reaching the feet of Mateta who powered his shot over Pickford and into the top of the goal.

Regis le Bris:
"We created enough changes to win the game but chances does not mean goals, when we got those big chances and the momentum we were not clinical enough, the Premier League is demanding and when you don't score you are always on the edge but overall I thought the lads did well"
"We have many young lads, so it's about experience and maturity, for example Noah in the first-half was brilliant but probably not a usual situation for him so I think he wasn't so confident but it's going to be a good platform for the future."
"It was important to be back on our foundations, our standards, I think during the last two weeks the boys were excellent during the training sessions, they were committed with a strong togetherness and we are always hard to beat with this positive mindset and it's good for the future."

David Moyes:
Asked about supporters fearing another season-long struggle, he said: "Well, they would probably be right.
"That's where they've been every other year for the last four years, so why would it suddenly change?"
"I don't think you can hide the facts. People will be flat because they are hoping that something is going to dramatically change - it can't dramatically change, it can't."

Betting Odds:
Sunderland
3/1 Everton 4/5 Draw 13/5

My two pence:
Ballard is still suspended.
I think I still hate David Moyes more than any other ex-Sunderland manager. I’d love us to win there again and see his ugly face squirm.
And another thing - it can change David - Oh yes it can.

I’m going for a 2-1 away win.
Good luck to all those travelling to this one.

3/1 is an insult in my opinion. We are as good if not better than Everton. Hoping for the win and as Smug says if that happens the Chelsea game does indeed become monumental. In turn I believe the atmosphere would be tremendous.
Everton are a solid team but we were unlucky not to score goals last week. Surely Picks wont play as well as Lammens. There will be at least one "error" <laugh>.
Traore back would be a boost I just hope RLB lets the reins out and tells the lads just to go out, enjoy themselves and get the win.

Once again RTB we are privileged to have you with these write ups. Thank you and after next week you can have a well earned rest.

Is that the same referee who did the FA Cup game and gave Everton that dodgy penalty at the end. Then came out with the comment trying to explain himself by saying “ the country deserves to see more Sunderland with the way they play, so I thought I would give everyone an extra half hour “. Good job they were rubbish at penalties.

It is indeed.

Fabulous thread again RTB thank you. Last away match thread of the season and the standard is as exceptional as always.
Nice to not be worrying to much about things football wise for a change as the season draws to a close. Looking forward to revisiting Everton enjoyed our last trip there and hope we play as well as we did in the cup. I think they will be better than the cup game but dont see why we can't take something from the game. Off to this one with the son and grandson and meeting sons future in laws who are Everton supporters. Looking forward to a good weekend and 3 points to set up a thrilling final match against Chelsea. Haway the lads.
