There is only the UK and Brazil that have your outlook, wonder why all your European countries have private med insurance, perhaps it is better over there than our nhs. I have asked this question multiple time and never had an answer as to why no European countries have an NHS even though a lot are classed as socialists countries. All I ever get answered is i want the American model even though that looks like one of the worst.
They aren't called the NHS because English is not their language, for example Spain has the Sistema Nacional de Salud which is the NHs with a spanish name.

I live in Italy where the health system is virtually a photocopy of the NHS.

The only difference is that, if you're working, you have to pay a part of out-patient hospital care. Apart from that it's exactly like the NHS.
Surely there must be better systems we can copy rather than just stick to this over bloated over funded bureaucratic system.

Not sure if any leader of any political party, inheriting the mess of a few years ago from the tories could have done much better.... although even as generally a Labour supporter, even i have to admit Starmer has been spectacularly bad. Reeve actually has done well, keeping the bond markets onside, despite our high borrowing.

Then with Fa gash, spreading fear of a muslim invasion, raping 'our' women, flooding the NHS and taking benefits paid for by hard working folks taxes.

Any government was going to get a kicking. It may be of course that Fa gash/Deform have reached their high water mark... a lot of s hit is starting to come out about the beloved posh boy and his dodgy backers.

There is something about Farage that makes me cringe.
I find him unconvincing in just about everthing he says, but so far he has had the freedom to come up with fantisies that he was never going to have to fullfill.

Now it's time to prove that he can do it.
I'm expecting him to fail, but blame everyone else for this.

I see his Party, much as I saw Sinn fein, the political front for the IRA.
To me, Reform is just the Political face of The National Front.

My hope is that the departing Labour Council left their developement plans all signed up with watertight contracts in place.

I am though hopeful that this is just huge, mid term, protest vote and that sanity will prevail in a few years time.

Hope costs nothing!!!!

Similar in Norway.

You have to pay a small fee for a GP appointment but only up to a certain limit, then you get a free pass for the rest of the year. That's so chronically ill people are not penalised.

Purge the NHS of all the agency staff and watch the costs plummet
Invest in training nurses and doctors but make the wage attractive. Trainee nurses and doctors are paid a pittance, offer a decent salary and a good training scheme with benefits then we wouldn’t need endless agency support.

I may have mentioned this earlier..
But where are Bonko Johnson's 50 new hospitals and staff promised, from the Brexit bonus by Fa gash?

This is the here and now not what was promised several years ago
The NHS needs a massive overhaul, we have kids leaving school with no hope, target schools, colleges, universities and draw them into well paid trainee positions with long term plans for their future. We have abandoned the development of our youngsters for far too long in favour of short term fixes
Invest in our youth

Every word of that, BUT, we need to decide as a society what we are prepared to pay for. A low tax society with a low level of social provision, or a high tax society with a high level of social provision. I'd go for the latter, but we seem to be trying to find (expecting?) a cheaper version that doesn't exist.

Absolutely repugnant man ...

... his endless laughing, at almost anything he says, makes my flesh creep.

Imagine people being convinced to vote for him man. The bloke is vile.

Reform is a one-man party with one policy.

If Farage went off to create a brand new party called Restart people would leave Reform and still vote for him ...

... it's tragic that so many people can be fooled by one person so much of the time.

Still, Trump managed it and he's doing great <whistle>

In all seriousness, someone made a good point elsewhere. Councils are already falling apart and running out of money… Some are even on the verge of bankruptcy. Reform will have to take the blame for that when it all comes crashing down. The electorate won’t listen to how the damage had already been done by the previous occupants. This could badly reflect on Reform and my hope is that it gives the Tories a way back in by the time of the next GE.

Don’t hold out hope if you’re a Labour supporter. Your party is fu*ked with that spanner in charge and unwilling to step aside <laugh>
