Disagree. On the odd time he did play, he looked good. I hope, if we can get him fit, he stays for another year.
He was fine, I'd be disappointed if the club didn't think they could get better. I think with him being pretty consistently injured for years now it's not something we will be able to change.

Seems a nice guy and was alright for us but the club have shown a constant drive to improve and a 30 year old put of contract winger who started 9 games won't be the exception.

You'd have to factor in playing for Anderlecht versus a weak Belgian team also where he wouldn't need to defend much, lot's of factors to consider, but my opinion is what it is.
What?

Does playing in Belgium make you faster?

I wonder where Talbi came from

Oddly his age might be in his favour with us having so many young wingers, not sure how he is on the training pitch but if he is any sort of role model for the young lads that's got to be another tick in his box, his fitness is the most important factor though, if the club don't think he can play at least 25 games it's not worth keeping him around.

The difference is Talbi has been clocked in the Premier League at very fast speeds and Angulo hasn't, and yes having fresh legs and poor defender infront of you will convince you to run as fast as you can.

I think he's generally a bit of a mercenary in football regards, just keeps signing 1-2 year deals all over the place and moves all the time.

Like I say the club only ended up signing him at the end because their top targets didn't quite work out so he came in on the deadline to cover, hopefully they can get a preferred option in the months before the end of August.

And as you mention it's not worth it if he can't stay fit.

Who was our first choice target though? The lad from Sassuolo who asked for a last minute wage bump? Roefs wasn't our first choice either. For me it's more about the players utility rather than the profile, a fit Traore can do a job for us, potentially mentor young wingers and wouldn't/shouldn't impede their development, sometimes it's a bit of give and take.

A deal involving Noah and Amad would be palatable.

I’d hate to see Noah leave but it’s far easier to fill that role than it is a lefty.

I still can’t see it but he’s approaching ‘I need to be starting’ age and let’s be frank, Mbuemo does offer them more.

They won’t need the money given CL qualification though so any small hope likely hangs on sacrifice, such as Noah in return.

The fav they haven’t given Cas a year after a great season screams they in for a big CM move.

They linked with Baleba but I’d personally have Noah over Baleba all day and night.
I would value Noha higher tham Amad

Nah he was another option off the left, I think to use your own words yes he can "do a job" but the club won't settle for just that.

Better player imo. He is fantastic, it isn't the same flair as Amad but my god he does everything with ease and does it to a very good level. First season in the prem after a move to a new country and only 21! Unreal season!

You'd hope Sadiki sticks around for another season. His value then, if we have a great season, would be even more hefty. Add another £20 million.

Aye I don’t think that’s unreasonable given Amad patchy use and Noah being spotless and the demand.

If Noah has a good World Cup his value will be crazy

I don't think he's ready for the next step up yet.

He's a tidy player that covers ground but yet to be trusted solely in the holding role, and he's not doing much in the final third.

Needs another season with us to work on the above.

We'd probably have to sign a few homegrown, with the lads that might leave, to fill the quota.

Rico Lewis? <cheers>

Wonder if we'll go for 1 or 2 big ones, around 24, then the rest younger. Or just spunk it all on Dembele.

But if he's reached his game limit before we have to pay more money for him, why would we do that when we are safe if he's not signing permanently.

If he is signing permanently, then he should have been playing a lot more.

I just can't see him staying.

Hes clearly a talented player but not sure where he would play. Hes been kinda like our 12th or 13th man in that if someone is injured in a particular position he comes in to fill it. He has been good when hes played but not outstanding enough to not be dropped.

I still don't know if hes a right back a defensive midfielder or a centre back. Probably a victim of his versatility

On Saturday we need to show Amad some love. Could be a swaying factor if we want to go back for him of course. Don't think its unrealistic as hes a rotated squad player for them but they may want to keep hold of him with extra champions league games coming up.

Talbi is rapid too I never denied that, but one player clocking our top speed in a game doesn’t mean they are definitely the fastest. A lot of things affect like this open space and game scenario, angulo has played around 200 minutes for us.

Angulo is rapid, so is talbi, there’ll be not much in it between them but I don’t have access to that exact number but his top speeds in Belgium have been clocked been 34/35 KM/H consistently too.

I never said talbi wasn’t rapid, I mean you’re literally quoting me saying he is

I was arguing the fact he said angulo wasn’t!
Sorry that was just me adding context about Talbi's speed. We don't have anyone as fast as Talbi (thats faster than Mbape has been clocked), but that doesn't mean other players aren't quick.
