The midfield has no legs and been a problem all season, bar Slater who has had a cracking season, but looked better in an immobile midfield. We’ve no one to control the game either, like a Seri type.

It needs a major overhaul in the summer, instead of blowing a load of cash on Gelhardt we need to spend it in the middle.
It’s a shame Palmer can’t be bothered half the time, like at Luton he’s been out the side for a while now he’s smashing them in from everywhere, maybe not a bad thing.

It was mentioned before but someone like Brannigan from Oxford a talented number 10 and someone too control the game.

We obviously need a left footed centre half and a right back to take over from Coyle. A GK is essential an all.

So I make that:

GK
RB
CB
LB
DCM
CM energy
AMC 10
ST maybe loan that can play on the wings.

They all need a history of playing 30/40 games a year as well.

All our loan signings can go.

Agree with most of that, except I'd like to see us bring in another striker who is simply another CF option, not someone who might end up out on the wing. We need a back up / alternative to McBurnie, not just for when he's injured, but to be able to give him a break when needed, to bring on fresh legs, for something a little different but still a CF.

Serge's interview .... I dont think he saw what he saw.... his demeanour to me says he wont be here..

Looks/sounds like a dead man walking. Not the usual calm, coherent, Serge were used to, but very harassed. All week we’ve had the “talk the talk” - passionate no surrender claims, “we know what we need to”….but when it came to it, no “walk the walk.” That first half was dire, no spark, no fight, if that was a no surrender performance, I wouldn’t like to see the alternative. I now fear Acun’s reaction when/if the play off dream is done. Not one I would imagine, to listen to “reasonable reasons,” having backed the team in Jan, to then occupy the play off spots for 4 months, to see the scale of capitulation. Personally, I’d like Serge to be given benefit of doubt with a full pre season & input of planning, personnel etc. We’re crying out for some stability rather than the conveyer belt of managerial change.

I’m still fuming, but not hurting as much as last week, expectations out of my system. Well done to the fab 3000 away support who turned up. <applause> <applause>

I know it's hard to be positive at the minute but if Coventry play to their potential today they should stuff Wrexham. 4-0 and we are back in 6th. Yes I know, its then the small matter of winning next week but Norwich should be very much on the beach

Sacking Jakirovic, regardless of where we finish, would be utterly bonkers. V hard not to compare to the Rosenior situation the difference for me is that one manager got pretty much everything they wanted from a transfer and backing perspective and one has had to deal in free transfers and loan signings without a fee. Wage bill may be high but there's a reason that most had us down for a relegation battle this season.

What hasn’t Serge had though? We’ve signed a player for every single position bar right back. This is his squad with a huge amount of experience as part of it.

I agree sacking him would be madness but let’s not pretend he hasn’t had what he wanted.

I'm not sure Rosenior was desperate to sign Billy Sharp and Noah Ohio in January. I think Rosenior was just as hamstrung by our January business as Jakirovic has been and both may suffer the same fate. Jakirovic has spent 28 weeks in the top 26, hitting the heights of third, Rosenior only ever hit 6th for four weeks in a row max. The fact expectations were somehow higher on the latter is a weird quirk of things given how open this league is compared to two years ago.

Remember lokilo <laugh>

And it's not as if we've just signed a bunch of kids and League 1 plodders, we've brought in McBurnie, Lundstrum, McNair, Ajayi who have all been there and done it, Hirakawa who everyone thought Brizzle were mad to let go, Amir, Gelhardt, etc. the list goes on.

Rosenior wanted both Vinagre and Lokilo though.

Based on Rosenior saying he did? I bet Jakirovic will say he was happy with every player we signed this season too. Kinda goes with the job doesn't it?

The fact Vinagre was bombed out so quickly though would suggest maybe Rosenior wasn't happy with him. Ditto Lokilo who was out on loan in January.

I doubt he has much say which is part of the problem
We sign too many players who aren’t better than what we have
You identify a weakness and replace with someone better
We don’t we just sign loads of players
Where was dowell supposed to play? To replace who?
So why sign him

I agree. We’ve signed far far too many players in the last 3 years. It’s insane.

However, I know it goes against the grain but I agree with a recruitment team having final say over the squad. The turnover of managers is so high these days it would be nuts to just let the manager choose who he wants, clubs would have to sign loads of players everytime a manager leaves.

They should have input, obviously, but should be left to coach on the whole.

Then for some reason Sergei feels the need to give them all playing time and dropping the players that had got us up into the play off places.

Too much disruption of the team selection and then the weird substitution choices.

We have said at various points of the season the recruitment team had done a great job.... on reflection!@!@!@ their decisions in January are mind boggling...

That rub back from Joseph shows why he needs to be in the side. I’d love to see the coverage stats of the last 10 games. I’m not a big stats man, but I bet the ground the sides covering has been a lot less in the last 10 games.
