On the coach heading home and so deflated. It's the hope that kills you and we had 2 to 3 minutes of it. Today was the first trip to Wembley for my two sons (13 and 10) and they absolutely loved it.

So very proud of the team and all the Saints fans. Absolutely awesome.

I've had so many messages from non-Saints supporting friends today telling me how great they thought we were. The country took notice of us today.

Back home. I hope the players are more resilient than I am - I'm totally emotionally and physically exhausted after that!

So, so proud of the team. Jander was an absolute beast in the middle of the park. We just took on one of the top three best teams in the world and absolutely gave them a game and one hell of a scare.

Fans were magnificent, team was magnificent. Just wish we could have held on a bit longer.

Craig Pawson can get to **** though. Blowing exactly on 97 when City had spent at least two minutes fannying around with corners and goal kicks. Twat.

The security guard on the way in to Wembley can do one too. Absolute jobsworth who decided to make my life as difficult as he could for absolutely no reason. Hope his next **** is a hedgehog.

Being positive though -

Jander MOTM for either team.
Wood fantastic. THB fantastic and Welly played his socks off. Sensational goal from Azaz, and Leo unlucky just to stray slightly off in the first half. Shout out to young Cam Bragg as well.

(Doku coming on completely changed the game in their favour).

I trust Tonda to pick them up again for Ipswich.

Immensely proud of our club today. Absolute beauty of a goal from Azaz. Jander was the best player on the pitch and Welington stepped up brilliantly, but there was 100% effort and focus throughout the team (and in the stands). I'm almost relieved the City equaliser came as quickly as it did, because a few more minutes of hope could have made things really painful.

What are we going to sing for the Eckert song now?

Just sing “Tonda Eckert” until it hurts!

The man deserves every accolade.

When Lawrie won the Cup fifty years ago it was a different era. Don’t get me wrong. Lawrie was fantastic, but Sunderland 1973, West Ham 1980 also won the thing as Division 2 sides. With the mega bucks now in a handful of clubs we may never again see the like. That our quietly spoken young whipper-snapper got us so close is astonishing.
