I was just thinking this. Does any other clubs have players do this ****e as soon as they get there?

It must be their media team? Its happened for years and I can only imagine everytime someone new starts with the media team and they are being shown the ropes the person showing them around says "one easy way to get positive attention from this lot is to get a player to say they have slept in Mag pj's since they were 4 and think Sunderland are ****e"

"Even if they are from deepest darkest peru and Paddington bear was their nearest neighbour for 250 miles say they grew up loving the mags and hate Sundrland! They will lap that **** up!"

It’s incredibly childish isn’t it and no, I don’t see Ipswich and Norwich players, as an example, carrying on like this. Not even Southampton and Portsmouth who hate each other unless it’s derby time.

Trippier is basically saying he wants a team of fellow professionals to suffer relegation based entirely on them being local rivals. Did he ever carry on like this at Spurs, I doubt it.

It has to be in response to the peculiar mentality of the Mags who always seem to get their ‘banter’ slightly wrong and it falls flat. The magpie in a top hat looked silly and the massive banner about ‘the regional capital’ was ridiculous. No one outside Tyneside would know wtf it was about and Sunderland supporters couldn’t care less even it was true … it isn’t.

The Mags were singing about Ryan Taylor who’s a middle aged bloke in a cardigan …

… yes, seeing his face on the big screen really hurt <laugh>

I think more and more people are seeing how pathetic and delu the mags actually are,

and what Clarie Balding and trippier said just shows that,
the club is ran and the players are spoon fed that they ARE the biggest team to ever team.

and when things are laid out, the lose badly, its not ok we are bad, its HOW DARE THIS CLUB beat us,

I've listened to a few things since Sunday. Some of them quite reasonable actually. Clearly saying the best team won, they they maybe edged the first half but were wiped out in the second, and that they all looked terrified of Brobbey. ( Sympathy there mind!)

But none of them seem to see, while all heavily criticising Howe, the simple problem. Five or six of them all fly forward all the time, trying to close down, even when they are flagging, and they leave acres of green grass to play in.

We used it , others use it. Anyone can see it. But they can't. Weird.

It's their misplaced sense of entitlement which is the most reprehensible and ultimately the most comical thing about them.
Clubs like Man C,Man U,Liverpool can rightly feel justified in expecting success as they have had so much of it over the years. The Mags have won precious little for as long as anyone can remember, yet they seek to include themselves with elite winners of multiple trophies when there's absolutely no justification to do so.

its their entitlement,

just because they almost won the league once, they feel like they should be winning it all the time.
swear they spoon feed their players this,

take the weekend
toys thrown the prams, waah wah its not fair, we should win, waah waah we got bullied by a player built like an brickhouse WAAAAAH

we cant spend waaah ( over 500m on players in the time PIF have taken over) waaah its not fair,.

I've always said they must have it as a condition of their contract and as soon as they sign they attend a night class to be taught that mocking safc can assure your popularity , even if you play crap

Was bored this afternoon whilst doing the school run and went on the Mags v Mackems thread on their little version of here.

Oh how it changed from Friday when it was "We're gonna do them 3 or 4-0" to "We should do them" on Saturday to when they went 1-0 up "We're gonna score another 2 or 3 and put them in their place" to slagging Howe and Burn off and some even questioning the owners! (I can't confirm that any suitcases were harmed afterwards). But what a difference a few days make

I’d keep that to yourself :bandit:

actually i did the same earlier, have to say it fairly decent as i expected far more vitriol...some even just accepted it and tried to get a sensible discussion about howe and the owners, they feel they are stuck with him for the rest of the season and possibly next.

i say the same as the first game, they did not seem bothered, only young miley was up for it...and now we see tonali playing for italy, either way he will not be there next season.

as a match thread it is nowhere near our own excellent match theads.

I have been having some right belly laughs watching the Yew Choob and Twatter Mag meltdoons. They all seem to ask the same question though "How did them Mackems beat wa?". If you can't understand the basic premise that if one team kicks the ball into the other teams goal more times than the other team does they win, then really football is not the game for you. In fact you should not be allowed to go anywhere or do anything without a responsible adult in attendance :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Unless ofcourse if someone puts in the wrong goal

I'm watching the entire match again and have to say ...

... the claim that Newcastle were the better team in the first half is nonsense.
That game was like the play off final. Both of them were on top for the first half, of the first half.

After that it was the odd foray up the pitch. Near identical games really.

Insecurity mate. And a lack of humility in the dressing room generally. This latter was seen in spades on Sunday.

Not many of their fans have called them out yet for this high arrogance, maybe it mirrors too many of their own assumptions, but it's a deadly worm in a club. Always destructive.
...mainly because their fans have the same arrogance and lack of humility.

The entire narrative on Sunday night/Monday morning was about how **** they were. Then it shifted to how they've played in Europe more than us and how we'll never be as big as them etc.

No once have I seen Saudi FC lose a game of football and just accept they were outplayed, there always has to be an excuse, a conspiracy or someone to blame. A completely classless set of fans.

I haven't watched it back yet, but it certainly felt that way. I felt quite deflated at half time, but hopeful as it was only 0-1.
Am sure a 2nd watch, without the stress might change that opinion.

I've still only watched the extended highlights, but I think I'll be the same when I watch it back. The thing for me as I didn't watch it live was following updates on the BBC website after they scored and it seemed that they had a lot of possession and some pressure but weren't creating much or putting us under heavy pressure. And then we gradually got more and more into the game until halftime. The fact they scored early probably makes it look like they were more dominant than they actually were. I'll judge better when I watch it all back.

Watching the game live is difficult because I’m always dreading they’ll score …

… and simultaneously dreading we won’t.

But my overall feeling was that I believed we’d manage a draw even after their goal. It even took away their last possible excuse over both games. They went a goal down and never looked like winning …

… we went a goal down and never looked like losing <laugh>

I thought their magpie was a rip off of the Black Crows rock group cartoon image and then crack the joke that we were too hard to handle.

Turns out it really wasn't, but we definitely were.
