Cheers mate

There’s something rotten at the heart of the club and in my opinion it’s the ticket office. They seem to be overplaying their part which is, basically, sell tickets to people …

… not, you would imagine, the hardest job in the world with our fan base.

It makes me wonder if the ticket office manager will be taking seats for him and his buddies, at SJP on Sunday, and how many will be true Sunderland supporters.

This issue seems to be entirely about people taking the seats of genuine fans …

… surely a newcomer doesn’t believe they should jump the queue.

Agree. This situation needs sorting pdq. Everything about the club is going in the right direction....the ticket office has been a pain for long enough and shouldn't be allowed to drag the rest of it down. If KLD is aware of this, which I'm sure by now he is,he needs to sort asap.

I’ve been told registered letters have been sent to him, in French and English, to the club and also to his solicitors as well as his brother Maurice.

I’m 100% certain he’ll have to idea about what’s going on. How could he, the branches are a mystery to most of us yet they’ve held up our support through the darkest times.

Decent people like Hurley, Kerr, Monty, Adamson, Ashurst, Ball, Bob Murray knew the value of the branches and supporters clubs. They’d always show up for Branch Events and other celebrations because they were valued …

… the ticket office manager proves that old proverb perfectly.

He knows the cost of everything but the value of nothing.

Sad times especially a few days before the derby. This was clearly done as a ‘This’ll show them’ stunt but it’ll backfire on this man and he’ll be away like every other ‘expert’ who’s come and gone.

I ran an unofficial branch, in Mansfield for years, and filled a 40 seater coach every game home and away, people will vouch for that.

I sold Roker Bingo cards around our pit village and on the bus …

… in all that time I was give half a dozen tickets and not so much as a sarnie <laugh>

People across the branches, and elsewhere, are supposed to be organising a minute’s applause on the 65th minute, during the Spurs match, as a dig at the ticket office and their high handed attitude.

To do what they did at short notice, and before the mags game, was a disgrace. Should have been a stern, last warning if they are going down that route.

Clearly, 99% of those at SJP would have been people who’ve put in the hard miles to Cheltenham, Accrington, etc …

… there’ll be ‘corporate’ people there who’ll have to check the programme to see who our 34 is <doh>

To be honest a clap sounds a bit naff! People will just assume it's for someone who died, not a protest.

There’ll be enough people who’ll know what it’s for …

… if not there’s no harm done and it’s just a comment someone made.

Funny that ‘Hetty’ appears to be constantly scanning this forum though and no doubt the ticket office manager is aware of how this thing is growing.

Nick Barnes, Danny Collins, Bob Murray, etc are all becoming involved. The ticket office manager clearly believes we’re a bunch of dopy pityackers he can run rings round … big mistake

Really poor that mind. I had heard about the extra tickets and the first thing I thought was I wonder if it’s a branch.

I’ve had my own issues with the ticket office in the championship when they cancelled my season card for what they claimed was a missed payment but the payment was never instructed to come out. They’ve got two phone numbers, two email addresses and my home address and I received no correspondence whatsoever. My father in law was seriously ill at the time as it wasn’t long before he passed, so I wasn’t attending matches for obvious reasons and only realised they’d cancelled it when I went to forward my ticket to a friend for the Boro match.

When I spoke to them they were no help whatsoever. I’d contacted the bank who confirmed the DD hadn’t been taken for whatever reason even though there was money in the bank, I had bank statements to prove this and I just got nothing from them at all just a “sorry nothing we can do.” I offered to pay the ticket up in full to reinstate it straight away and they wouldn’t allow me to do so and told me all I could do was try and purchase my own seat on a part time season ticket in January. I went on the minute they went live and someone had already got my seat so I had to choose another a few seats down.

I’ve already heard rumours of introducing a system like Newcastle where you have to attend 80% of matches otherwise they won’t let you renew at the end of the season. Its a load of **** and a kick in the teeth for those of us who followed the club home and away in League One when so many stopped bothering. I often got my away tickets from a bloke who runs a branch and he sorted the travel too, as mentioned by others above I would’ve ended up spending a fortune on my own travel had it not been for him. Yes, I didn’t accumulate points on my own account but it is what it is. These people were rewarded for being loyal fans and putting their heart and soul into making the trip easier for others.

This fella thinks we're all a bunch of dummies who don't know how anything works.

Thankfully there's a thing called 'the internet' that's slowly creeping into the backwaters of the NE.

If I want to buy a SC, from my home in Fife, no one can force me to go to all the matches.

If the club can't provide a customer, for my unused ticket, that's their responsibility, not mine.

I can see this becoming a 'test case' in the courts and I hope the ticket office manager is prepared for the fight ...

... I am.

I've read most of the post over on RTG, the pitchforks were out at first and the gallows were being constructed, a certain poster was shoved into everyones cross hairs and his name was demanded to be made public.

It reality it should be a case of stepping back, listening to both sides, form an opinion from the actual facts and evidence then post.

But no, that's RTG mentality, and social media in general to be impulsively subjective and throw stones from glass houses, I'm glad I left.

There's a couple on here that have been banned from there and now haunt this place, but we still outweigh them. For now.

What's bizarre is that people on RTG blithely go along with the pretence that 'Hetty' is a real person.

No matter how clearly biased the posts may be some people respond as if they're talking to an actual Sunderland supporter. The fact that a group of people have been allowed to take over a Sunderland forum, and dictate the content, is like being in a cult film from the 70's.

What on earth is this all about ...

Enough points for Villa for me & my lads, travel on train with very good deals from the man in question & have done since L1 early days

Train pre game announcement for the Sunday for me & my 2 lads with our Railcards, £123, by time ive got in from work today had chance to get a look, train tickets are now £188 return.

Id have likely been paying less than the £123 anyway due to the train deals arranged, which takes some doing & am always very appreciative of the effort put in, given he wont even accept a pint in gratitude.

Well done SAFC, me & my lads will now need to sit this one out on a pure cost basis....is this what was set out to be achieved? Because this is the outcome

Apparently there was a post on RTG, early this morning, saying that David Bruce has been spoken to about all this.

I've just checked and there's nothing there so presumably deleted.

The ticket office are claiming there are 9,000 on the SC waiting list which I really don’t believe …

… lots of long term supporters seem to be wondering if the club is what they thought it was and whether to bother renewing. I think this is a bit of blackmail from the ticket office tbh.

Even people who come for home games with branches will be affected. And which branch organiser will buy tickets knowing that, if they aren’t used by that particular member, he/she could be sanctioned and banned for years.

This is as bad as the BCB in the way it’s been handled …

… and the ticket office is totally responsible in my opinion.
