We need 43 points ASAP IMHO
Serious question, why? Do you honestly believe that there is the remotest chance of wist am, dirty Leeds, forest and spurs gaining enough points to get to 41, given their respective form to date? And couple that with us getting not one point in the next 8, given we’ve got 7 in our last 8 whilst coping with unbelievable levels of injury? Or is it at 43 points you can relax?

Whatever happens to us at the weekend playing the Saudis as spurs play forest next weekend we are still guaranteed to be at least 10 points clear of third bottom at least by my calculations. I dont think we should be worried but I think for many years we have become accustomed to it being us hence the worry for some.

West Ham and Leeds play each other on the last day. Spurs play Forest next week, etc etc etc …

… they can’t all win <laugh>

what is clear,

everyone has the own views on this,

some think we are safe,
some dont, as I guess over the years we are just used to it, and wont feel "safe" until we get another couple of wins to get that safe feeling,

everyone is different,

so can we please just accept that some dont feel "safe".

otherwise niggly arguements will take over this thread.

:)

If people didn’t keep coming on here, saying how worried they are others wouldn’t respond. Also some people speaking on behalf of the entire support doesn’t help, it makes us look weak in my opinion.

So can we please accept that some of us do feel safe <cheers>

Too many matches involving the bottom teams imo ...

... it amazes me when I see people saying Leeds are safe then worry about us.

I'm going to just enjoy watching the relegation battle from afar and enjoy the rest of our season.

Fingers crossed, 3 points at the weekend will do nicely..

( I kid, I know we are safe, just my stupid MH riddled brain making me doubt things)

Think its all about perspective, I think if we had lost to Bournemouth, drew with Leeds and beat Brighton, still been on 40 points but now off the back of a home win after 2 defeats more people would feel safe. But because its off the back of a 3rd home defeat in a row, but we still have 40 points people are getting nervy.

I think we're safe, would like more of a cushion points and position wise but I still believe we can get 10 points from the remaining 8 games, so in the end I think we will be comfortably safe

think what is worrying some fans,

we've gone from looking like we turned a corner with the points against Bournemouth and leeds, building confidence up, and then port vale happened.

yes the injuries arent helping

think with safc people will always worry. its the nature of being a fan

Thankfully the ones I know aren’t like that …

… perhaps people are different on chat forums.

What happened to agreeing to disagree ten minutes ago?

“so can we please just accept that some dont feel "safe".

For me - it`s not as much whether we are safe (we are - but I`d like to feel "safer"). I just don`t want the season to limp out. I thought the whole game on Saturday was "flat" - the team didn`t give much, the crowd gave less - mumbles about "sack Le Bris" (stupid idea, hugely unlikely...more chance of a more established team looking to take him), the feeling as the ground emptied was pretty grumpy...
I just hope that we didn`t put too much importance on "40 points" and, now that we`ve achieved it, we can coast...
Hopefully it`s more about having too many injuries and a very thin squad - I guess the longer you spend in the prem the better the squad depth ought to become

I get that too,

but I wont be happy until we are confirmed as safe. teams below us picking up the odd points isnt great (IMO

but that what is brilliant about this thread,

everyone has their own views and opinons
Yep, I get what you're getting at because 40 points can still be caught. However, we are surely to maybe get at least 5 more points too, don't forget.

They are bound to pick up points. But only so many, and we will too.

There is nothing to suggest we will get nowt from the next eight. Nothing.

A team in the bottom few now will do well to get a point per game. One or two will, one maybe more. At least one will fade. This always happens.

37 points I'd say. It looks close to 29. But it's three wins out of eight if you're on 29, or two wins and a draw. They are hard to get when you haven't been winning.

We'll get at least five more I reckon. If we get the players all back, we might get ten.

We'll get them. But we won't need them.

But if you're worried, stick a tenner on us going down and you'll collect £2.5k.

Not one of those ‘worried’ supporters will even bet a tenner because they actually know we’re safe. It’s like worrying about dying in your sleep …

… you’d never know so why lose any kip over it <laugh>
