Sunderland welcome Brighton to the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
Last time out Sunderland lost at Port Vale and Brighton lost to Arsenal.
Sunderland lost out on a great chance to progress in the FA Cup and will be desperate for a home win to erase those memories and instil some confidence ahead of the derby game next weekend.
Sadiki, Hume and Xhaka are available and expected to start, Cirkin and Brobbey are due to return after injury but Robin Roefs, Reinildo, and Mukiele will not be involved. Traore is expected to be out for 6 to 8 weeks.
Brighton lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal, Albion were the superior side for long periods - but Bukayo Saka's deflected early strike proved enough to give Mikel Arteta's side a priceless triumph.
Mitoma was injured in their last game and is unlikely to feature but March and Dunk will be assessed before the game. Danny Welbeck and Jason Steele return to the Stadium of Light.
Regis le Bris:
“I’m disappointed for the club, the players and for the fans obviously, because we tried, we wanted to go further. The game was tough as expected, the FA Cup is relentless, full credit to the opponent they played with passion with intensity, many second balls, many chaotic situations but they created one situation in the first half, (they) scored and we struggled to find a solution.”

Fabian Hurzeler:
“Only one team who tried to play football”
“Where will this go in the future? That’s my question. In one game, you play 60 minutes net and then when you play against Arsenal it’s only 50 minutes. It’s 10 minutes different and this is what the supporters are paying for. If I would ask everyone in the room: ‘Did you really enjoy this football game?’ I’m sure maybe one raises his arm because he’s a big Arsenal fan but, besides that, no chance.”

My two pence:
The less said about the last game the better, but hopefully we up the intensity and play like we have done earlier in the season. The crowd need to be up for this one too, it’s time to re-create the atmosphere from the first few home games.
I’m travelling up for this one, hope to see a few in the Fans Museum, before or after the game.
Sir Bob Murray will be inducted into the Sunderland Hall of Fame at half time.
I’m going for a 2-1 home win.

I am normally quite bullish when we lose but to be honest that defeat to Port Vale left me running on empty. Could not understand how we managed to produce that display at that time. Credit to Vale they stuck at their task and got the result they deserved but we did not really turn up which was a huge dissapointment.
For this game I am hoping for a bit of bouncebackability and a performance to restore some belief. I think we will be more attacking than we have been of late and hope this brings a positive result so will go for a 2-1 win and a bit of a cloud lifted.

This pitch was a huge factor IMO. The ball just didn't move as it does on our nice smooth pitch, which hindered us.

Great thread as always @RTB

Think the lads will want to put in a performance to make up for last weekend and im hoping to see the fast paced intensity we know we are capable of.

This game could possibly be our past 3pm Saturday kick off this season amd its the only home game this month so going yo enjoy bit and hope to be leaving at full time with the 3 points

HWTFL let's get back in the groove 2-1
Brighton are erratic and, despite some decent results, and are just as likely to lose.

They recently lost at home to Palace with 60% possession but only two efforts on target ...

... then won away at Brentford with seven shots on target.

They're very much mid-table and won't enjoy trecking up to Sunderland.

We're not playing a top team or a relegation threatened outfit so probably the best fixture to win the three points.

We've nothing to lose either, so lets get into them and f*ck them up <laugh>

Still feeling battered by last week's **** show, so not got a lot of confidence going into this one. Main thing for me is not to rush anyone back from injury, there's one headline game remaining and I want everyone fit for it.

Suspect it partially depends how Regis sets us up for the game, if it's attack attack I fancy us to bounce back, a more cautious approach and it'll be scrappy and could go either way.

as long as there is a reaction, there is a performance,

happy ( well not but you will get what I mean) to lose if we lose fighting, if the performance is there.

be interesting to see/listesn to RLB's presser
