If you were wanting to go to Niagara Falls then you’d be better going to the Canadian side anyway.
The Yank side is **** (to be fair the immediate area around the Canada side isn’t great either really…the falls themselves are amazing though)
We stayed on the Canadian side, in the Niagara Hilton in a high room with an amazing view over both falls on a night (at least one was lit up)
Toronto is nice while you’re over there.

There you go. I’ve saved Mrs Shackleton’s bucket…
Yepp, avoid the US side of Niagara Falls. I was last there about 10 years ago. It was a get in and get out kind of place. There was a massive casino, but little else. We got back to the Canadian side asap. I doubt if its changed for the better. The Canadian side is a bit like a funfair, full of kiss-me-quick hats and ****e amusements. McDonalds and Tim Horton coffee shops..There was a nice fish and chip restaurant about three miles away, other than that not impressed, though the Falls are majestic.

Pretty much exactly what we thought.

We described it as being like Blackpool with waterfalls.

Went as vegans which was tricky, so ended up in the grimmest Indian restaurant I’ve ever been in…which is saying something!
Food was nice tbf and it was full of local Indian families, which was a good sign, but Jesus it looked grim.

I went in a Greek restaurant in Niagara Falls, which was owned by the people who lived next door to my relatives who are in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Uncle Dave is a North Hull lad, who went to live in Toronto in the 1970s, now retired and living in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Which is a beautiful spot , especially in the summer. He still emails me regularly, asking about City performances.

Saw that US may start a requirement that they want to see 5 years of your social media posts before they allow people to enter, which is the sort of thing a totally sane and normal country would do... I doubt they'll manage to implement that before the World Cup though. (or ever...)

I keep seeing this mentioned
What truth is there to it??

It's a proposal at the moment, it's due to be debated from February, so it's unlikely to be implemented before the World Cup.

It doesn't need Senate approval and it's currently a voluntary option on an ESTA application anyway. There's a 60 day consultation period and then it could be implemented with immediate effect.

Whether it will or not, remains to be seen.

**** 'em I say, I'll be happy to never go to USA again. Trouble is it would affect flights transiting through USA which could become a pain.

I don't think so, it's part of the ESTA application, so if you're not leaving the airport I don't think it would matter

I see the stupid cost of World Cup match tickets made the main BBC news this evening. Perhaps SKS can be persuaded to have a word in Trump's shell-like, who will no doubt pat him on the head and tell him to go and **** himself. Then there's the cost of flights and hotel rooms...£2,500 for flight and four nights in June in a 3* NYC hotel...About £900 more than I paid in 2023. Bollocks to that.

Got the look of the Club World Cup already....
