This was my worry. I think Eckert will have made a few people sit up and take notice. Come May I think we may struggle to keep him and I am more comfortable now he is permanent. Should have been at the helm in August.
He is certainly tweaking the nose of history right now, maybe he will be the first caretaker turned permanent Saints manager to have success.
The most impressive thing to me is the fast fluidity of the football, it's all looks instinctive with not too much back and side to side possession for the sake of it. Adarma has been a revelation (dropping deep to recieve the ball with runners beyond him) to me as well as CBs stepping forward which they weren't doing before and the WBs more advanced, this is how to play with 3 CBs.
The most refreshing thing about Tonda for me is that he is not trying to impose a certain style of play, instead setting his tactics to suit the players we have and their strengths. It’s been a joy to watch these last few games.
