The defending probably hasn't dramatically improved, just that now they don't have to defend as much due to the team as a whole endeavouring to attack
He's doing brilliantly, and long may it to continue. I'm loving the guy so far, and right now I wouldn't want us to appoint someone else. But I still haven't changed my opinion: there's no reason to rush anything. Just continue as they are.
And let’s hope his methods continue to show the outcomes we are getting used to. What I would say is I would be happy for a 10+ game run which (hopefully won’t) might see a couple of defeats and from there we might get the true picture as to his reaction along with the player’s attitudes in such a circumstance. He’s doing so well but as others have said to rush now might backfire in the cold and long weeks of winter. SR must realise that they have a poor record in appointments and hopefully will, in time, make the right decision. It’s all to play for.
Too soon imho . need to see how they respond to the defeat first and give him a couple of more games as well .
I'm still not convinced that it was necessary to announce it at this stage. But all the best and I hope he takes us back up.
Yeah I would have preferred they wait and see how they respond to that loss tbh. If we now have three poor results this week then the pressure will be on immediately and everyone will be right on SRs back again.
Utterly bizarre timing. Doesn't make any sense but that is SR in a nutshell. No reason to not wait until the end of this 3 game week.
Just seems daft to me. If they'd have done it after Leicester it'd have made more sense but to do it now just heaps the pressure on massively imo. Also the problem with giving him the job based on 4 games is that could they also lose faith based on 4 games?
