We need to win this one since a loss would put to bed our hopes of winning the title as Centurions

I think most have us down to lose. Even bet 365 have us at 4/1. Most still see us as a plucky promoted side and are expecting the wheels to fall off sooner rather than later. To be fair I don't mind this just makes it sweeter when we prove them wrong. I expect us to get something down there and I'm sure the players do as well I think the key thing is win lose or draw let's not get too carried away either way

Tbf we are actually 11/4 and Fulham are 11/10 against, as a home team don’t think the bookies are that confident of a home win

As always - cracking thread @RTB
I think we can win this one. Fulham will be up for it and they play some decent football but are erratic - depends which version of both teams turn up on the day

Ill go for a narrow win for the lads but also would not be entirely unhappy with a draw. id be gutted if we lost. my other observation after watching back Burnley and Man U was that Xhaka was slightly off colour those two games - he is so important to making us tick

Yeah I've looked since and our odds have dropped.

I'd say percentage wise they've basically got Fulham win 50% Draw 28% Sunderland win 22% as they will have a slight profit margin on all 3 outcomes. I still think we are the value bet from all of that mind and do expect us to pick up at least a point.

Great thread as always RTB thank you. I'd like to think this is one of the games we would identify as a win. It will be tough as all games are they do have a decent home record. That said I think we are capable of taking the 3 points and would be really disappointed to come away with nowt.
Another long day extended courtesy of LNER and railway maintenance. Early start and fingers crossed it's a worthwhile effort. Haway the lads

I don't disagree mate, there's only Wolves who are looking abysmal.

However it's true to say that Fulham without their only recent points, against ten man Wolves, would currently be second bottom.

They've only escaped people's attention because West Ham, Forest, Leeds, Burnley have all looked shaky.

But all of those teams have better current form than Fulham who've lost time and again.

My point is that, if we can't win at Fulham, where can we win ...

... or do we just accept that we're not capable which is fair enough if that's what people believe.

Great thread again RTB. 3 points from this would be nice but a point wouldn't be a disaster. Ha'way the Lads.

Like I said before I expect a win, but truthfully no matter the result my expectations will be to win the next game as this season we have proven to be a match for anybody in this league and we should be going into every game with confidence.
I think it is kind of in Sunderlands DNA to be a little humble which is ok as it can be endearing and win over armchair fans, but there is nothing wrong with being humble and confident at the same time.

We play and battle with the same intensity as we did against Arsenal I cannot see us losing. I would imagine RLB & Granit will ensure our mentality is right. I will be disappointed if we do not get 3 points.

My feelings exactly, this isn't 'gung ho football' as we saw with Reidy or Keane, it's methodical and calculated.

I've no doubt the players are totally focussed, and prepared, they're visibly improving week by week.

As far as the supporters are concerned, I'm not actually sure of the difference between being confident and over confident.

The support will be excellent, as always, and we can't exactly cheer a little less loudly in case we look too confident ...

... I'm expecting this team to go for three points and will be dissappointed with anything less.

Ha'way the Lads, 3-1 and three different scorers!!!

This is exactly it in a nutshell. We have Man City coming up soon and TBH before the season started I would have been very wary of this game. But in my head now I am thinking OK let's see if we can give these a bit of a rattle as well and let's see what they have got.
No worry just an expectation to give them as tough of a test as they will have faced all season and go head to head against them. This team has earned that and we as supporters should expect no less from ourselves.
RLB continually talks about connection within the team and the club as well as the connection to the support. The team are doing their job and we as a support are doing ours, confidence will grow and so will expectation. Man what a time to be a lads fan!!!

The players had barely met before we played Burnley …

    … we’d beat them now.

That result had nothing to do with overconfidence, we just didn’t play well.

    Great thread as always @RTB

We go to Fulham full of confidence, we are playing very well, they have been struggling. We will be rightly targeting this game as 3 points.

The more I listen to RLB and hear from players and former players from Lorient, I believe firmly in this guy is the real deal..This game against Fulham is a tricky one, But given RLB's attention to detail I am more than confident that Fulham awful run will continue... Hope this is not blind faith

Big day today points are back, got through the crap of international interference without any mishaps thankfully and i for one welcome the return of proper football. Seems like an age since our last game. Let this relaunch start with a priceless away win . OaU,
PS a draw will do tbh. and we are well capable of at least that.
