You literally only named work rate and determination regarding Coyle, your other attributes were referring to Slater. What's these great attributes Coyle has? His 1v1 defending is atrocious now, passing forward is a challenge without multiple touches, and most crosses are hit and hope rather than picking anyone out. There's also a lot to be said about on the field leadership, he never seems to say a peep, particularly after we concede when I'd want my captain motivating the team.
Hughes is still inexperienced at this level and has a mistake a game in him. Yeah he has ability and leadership qualities but he's still a bit naive. Coyle is captain on merit. Incoming managers might not change skipper straight away, but 6 managers over 5 years? Come off it.
