Good to see the forward line firing. We could have scored 3 or 4 v Chelsea and United so was matter of time. Tighten up the defence a bit and the forwards will win us games no doubt.

First 10 you would expect a bit of messing about

Frankfurt would probs be mid table
In prem ?

still looked a bit open but good to try something new
Looked better with Salah off for me
But Salah is trying too hard imho

Isak off after feeling his groin (Oo-er) at Ht. So imagine will be at best on bench for Brentford so easy move to bring Salah back RW and Gakpo Ekitike Salah front 3.

I don't think there's a player more suited to pressing than Fedo. He just needs a goal now, and maybe, just maybe.... getting back towards the real deal who was the star of the 2020 Euros four years ago? Okay, let's not get carried away. <whistle>

That was good. We didn’t look like strangers and there was some really nice intervals throughout.

What makes all the difference is that hunger to pick up the second ball, to hunt the ball back down once it’s lost - it has to be there, it just isn’t negotiable.

It must’ve been a real punch to the gut when they went 1 down with how things are going, so great mentality tonight <cheers>

I agree with all of your comments. However, Frankfurt are not PL quality….if we can transfer what we did to the prem…great! Even if we show improvement and look balanced at PL level….great!. I’m not counting any chickens…this was just one (very small) step.

Isak getting injured might actually be a blessing - we’re not training Inbetween games much and he had zero pre season. It will take time (that we don’t have) but he is quality so he will succeed eventually imo.

1. We played a side as bad as southampton were last year. They were literally that bad.

2. We conceded again because we fell over each other (lack of trust) and failed again to get out and challenge.

3. We scored of set piece because their sole tactic was to fall over and beg for frees. When have you seen konate make tjst good a header? Never. He usually skies them as he rarely is allowed get a good contact and often closes his eyes.

4. Ekitike ran off robert Koch. A total mismatch.

5. We started to press and run up top. Chiesa was great when he came on. Once thry started getting the idea that letting a guy passed them wasnt going to cost the game they finally started getting up there and frankfurt had no answer

6. We were still far too easy to run through and too in love with retreating off plauers and leaving them all the room to pick their pass.

This is REALITY not negativity.

We need more aggression, more intensity, more desire to get a foot in.

Once they went down their heads dropped and ours came up and we finally started to really do what we needed to.

We need to take that press to brentford but realise that brentford will put their bodies in the eay and take a kick to defend well.

We have to get thst aggression into what we are doing.

Last year you'd see macallister get 4 or 5 fouls in before a ref would do anything as they were aggressive in tight grab the guy or snap at their heels type stuff.

I want to see us not allow people turn and certainly not allow runs at us.

You.are exactly right.

Take it, improve on it.

Dont try to rewrite history as if all the issued that led to 4 losses in a row dont exist.

I want to see a snarling, angry, agression about the play.

Our ball. How dare you touch it stuff.
