Lets be fair, he and KLD seemed to have a massive wobble the season before last. Some might say, they lost focus of the ultimate goal. Thankfully the must have had a rethink and really committed themselves. That how I see it .
It's how everyone who made a bit of an arse of themselves calling for the heads of the best thing to happen to the club in decades sees it.

Come on mate it’s business, every club is out for themselves. All good saying you’re going to stick to your word until a better offer comes, then it’s hard luck I’m afraid.
Na, not for me. There's such a thing as integrity and if you make promises then you keep them (or you don't make those promises in the first place).

With the game as it is now, differentiating yourselves to gain a competitive advantage is imperative, one of the ways we've done that is the relationships we've formed with other parties and the way we've conducted ourselves. Goodwill and reputations in the game are a lot harder to build than they are ruin.

Don't like to read stuff like this, doesn't sound like how we've done business at all. Even if Seelt (or his agent) rejected the move, I'd like to think we would have at least gotten in touch and apologised... Sounds like we're completely blindsided them which is poor form, imo.

I get that it's business, but you don't want to get a reputation for breaking agreements at the last minute (even if not technically legally binding).
You've said it much better than I tried to.

I don’t think Matete is training anywhere near our first team though
Probably not now but that will only be from this summer. He’s still going to be enjoying much better facilities and will probably never get the salary he’s on again even if it’s fairly modest in the scheme of football wages. ( assuming he’ll have had some kind of promotion clause like others have.

I think we probably had an agreement and Seelt was happy with it until he got an unexpectedly good alternative offer. Understand their frustration but in those circumstances we can’t force Seelt to take the poorer option.

There’s a fair bit of speculation there and even if it is accurate then a bit of open communication would have been important to maintain our reputation. You want to be a club that others trust and want to deal with.

We have no idea what was and wasn't agreed to

We are a club with a great reputation and that's not changed at all

Exactly we’ve done right by players and clubs this last couple of years none of us have a clue what’s gone on but some seem happy to jump on the negative side without the full facts
We do seem to be a club of high standards and integrity to others, so it would be a bit odd if we’ve just ridden roughshod over them. Hopefully we might get an explanation from our side which will clear up the confusion..

To be fair to the lads that are never going to get close to training with such good facilities or alongside such good players I can understand why they might want to stay.
Fair to say Matete wants to play being a premier league footballer. If he had anything about him he should have had his agent sort him a move. It’s a short career and looks like he wants a very easy life without the work to maintain his pampered lifestyle.

I wonder how much a number of players benefited by being promoted in their wages. Likely the ones who are going to now sit on their contracts snd contribute nothing.
