Quite a week. Back to league action on Saturday as we head to Watford for our second league game. Watford lost their first league game to Charlton, and will be hoping for better as they play in front of their own fans. They've signed ten players over the summer and have strengthened across all areas of the pitch. It'll be a challenge to get them all gelling well together quickly, but on paper they look like they could be very dangerous. As for us, the signing of Kone looks like a very exciting deal as he's a proven goalscorer in League One. Alongside Dembele, Poku and Burrell our attacking options have been significantly improved and so I'll be hoping to see a lot more attacking play this season, and less sitting back and playing the ball across the back four. Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy if you'll be making the trip to Watford...(as always...stop for a Thai pre or post match, at the Nascot Arms...it's brilliant)...and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Nice one Dave The lad and I have secured tickets in the away end this year which makes a pleasant change Nice to see from your report that Watford are one of a handful of clubs we have actually beaten more times than lost Up the R's!
Cheers Dave. Always good to be reminded of the legend that is Samba Diakite. Or perhaps that should read ‘myth’.
Thanks Dave. I think uncle Albert’s winner at Vicarage Road (2-3) in 2022 deserves to be in the ‘ones to remember’ column. Watford were top or second at the time and Adomah cut them down to size. Sadly, we couldn’t build on that win and Beale would prove traitorous…
I have few memories of the lockdown games which all blurred into one but a delightful late winner there from AA that season too. Speaking to Watford mates it sounds they’re absolutely there for the taking so I’ll predict a 1-0 defeat with a Baah goal in the 72nd minute. Big Wetherspoon’s, sun shining, nothing can go wrong.
Very good player with one drawback and one drawback alone: every tackle he made was a two-footed studs up slide.
Grudgingly that did make me laugh and fully justiified the 'like'. Assuming it was indeed a joke. It was wasn't it? Fretting now.
And still no news from the Club about Poku's injury. Even if it is still being investigated with medics we have a right to know. That is a disgrace. Umpteen articles about the non-event in Plymouth.
Probably having scans and it’ll take a bit of time for swelling to go down if that’s an issue. Or he’ll emerge at Vicarage Road like a butterfly.
Someone said just last weekend, we should buy a hospital ................. no too far off l reckon. We could at least be sponsered by a medi-cab company or alike.
