Chelsea will want minutes guaranteed. Does that push mayenda and wilson back. Also had a hamstring injury. 50/50 on this one. Was hoping for older more experience to help bring our strikers on
They are very different profiles imo Guiu is a 6ft2 fox in the box type player and Mayenda looks best when he’s running in behind
You can do both, Mayenda isn't going to play every minute and he developed very well last season as the number 2 behind Isidor
I know people have recently said it's too early but I totally disagree. I fully believe it'll be triggered if we survive this season. As was mentioned in the spring, tenders have gone out and they can't have changed much since last time. We'll be turning people away at the West Ham game which isn't great, I already have a sizeable waiting list for tickets to that game. 'Carpe Diem' as KLD would've learned in his Latin classes
We could do with something that doesn’t hit our PSR too much. Although the hit for this season is reasonable, it still amounts to a structural hit of £30m per season from 26/27. So we start each summer a fair way into the hole. If we can add to the squad for this season in some areas without digging any deeper, we’ll be doing ourselves a massive favour in the medium term.
We need a range of options up front. I’d rather someone with a few more games mind but admittedly know little about the player so can’t judge. .
Sorry but I just don't like his face, I was like that with Broadhead and would've been upset if we'd paid for him ... ... I know you shouldn't judge a player, just because he looks like he needs a slap, but thankfully it's not my decision anyway What we want and what the club decide we're getting are two entirely different things.
Don't have to be premier league. More established / experienced. We are spending 20-30m on players at will, so I am hoping this is followed within the striker department
It's a bit of a change of direction from Mikatuadze. Maybe we don't think there's value for money out there at the minute so just looking at a loan and putting faith in Isidor and Mayenda to step up?
And there is no guarantee that, after paying a huge fee, they will do the business. I can really see the case for being 'canny' in the striker market.
Oh, I don't think our business will be done there, just think it will mean mayneda will be used outwide.
Not too fussed about Guiu as a pure loan, don’t think he stands out as a step above our current strikers and we don’t need to develop another club’s player. Would be exciting as a transfer though.
Does anyone think Isidor might be moved on? Hasn’t been given much of a chance during pre season is all.
