Since when were players personal terms 'officially' agreed before fees between clubs. I know this would have often been done on the sly but ive never known it been common knowledge like it seems to be now.

My instinct is it’s more opportunism, whatever Ten Hag says out loud. Brinksmanship laced with annoyance. I’m not a fan of Ten Hag. His people skills appear lacking.

 

£15m is incredibly lumpy for a near 33 year old to a newly promoted club. It’s basically a write-off.

 

So Ten Hag is talking pump then? You cant allow a player to talk to other clubs whilst putting a 'Not for Sale' sign around their neck?

 

I honestly don’t see the issue for a player of his quality on a one time thing this window. He could be the big difference between relegation and staying up. Also the agreement of a three year deal shows we think he can be useful to us for a good few years

I wouldn’t pay 20mill for the record. I don’t think we’ll have to though. It’ll be one of them where they say they’ve won and and gut their money and reality appears a month later. I’m 75% we get him now though

 

This is all just a distraction anyway for us to announce our new centre back tomorrow
