Yeah fair point - should stop underestimating this England side I do think a fully fit Bumrah would have changed things mind you.
Pretty sure I read / heard that across both innings , Englands lower order only had 3 scores that were not double figures . India had 11 .
I think Shubman Gill’s captaincy was questionable. At times he was indecisive and should have got Ravindra Jadeja bowling into the rough outside the left-handed batsmen’s off stump a lot sooner than he did. He also allowed the senior players, especially K.L.Rahul, to undermine his field placings. He will grow into the role if he’s allowed the time, but he needs to assert himself more. Anyway, England won, so who cares?
Disappointing draw TBH. The pitch clearly flattened out though. At least we took 6 bonus points to go with the 8 for a draw. If we can beat Worcs next that will still be a decent haul of points.
At least Middlesex Made a Game of it with Northanta with a declaración that was challenging for Northanta and gave Middlesex a chance of victory themselves. Well played both teams!!
