@brb when I'm looking to learn a scale the videos are too quick and I just can't follow them, any recommendations?

This was more difficult than I imagined it to be, lots of waffle and as you say going to quick. Among my thousands of guitar bookmarks, I eventually found this, which then I couldn't copy before I realised Youtube have put in some kind of filter now unless you turn your ad blockers off, lol...

I've put this link up in the past, also with links to other scales on the same page...if the link comes up dodgy, I think it's because their certificate as expired, it's an old link, but you can bypass into it...

If I find anything else when I get time I will come back to you. Let me know if that **** above is any good mate,

I've put this link up in the past, go in and scroll down slightly and click 'guitar lesson 5' scroll down and you will see the scale, also with links to other scales on the same page...if the link comes up dodgy, I think it's because their certificate as expired, it's an old link, but you can bypass into it...

This chart tells you where all the notes are on a fret board, you can see all the A notes highlighted, the thick e string is the one at the bottom of the chart, marked in red (bottom left). This can be confusing for beginners, because the bottom string in the chart is actually your top string as you hold the guitar ie the thickest string...

Video should be set at 5 mins 53 seconds...

Also worth a listen to 9min to 11min and the importance in sound, of the note you finish landing on ie the A and C examples in his soloing.

Think of it like a book, you open on the first page (note), and you finish on the last page (note) and everything else is the scale in between.

Putting this out there from a lyricist perspective - for me close to perfection (although the singer ain't bad) was my old girl's all time favourite and I had it played at her funeral... bit morbid perhaps... but nonetheless... and a life lesson to her three granddaughters

Not usually one for instrumentals but really like this one, from Zambia's finest.

I really like that one...reminds me of a 70's style program like it should be in something like The Streets of San Francisco or Starsky and Hutch busting a club that Huggy Bear is in lol
