Im just saying… if he wants to say he’s not following anyone’s footsteps he kinda needs to choose a different club
Just got to the bit in his interview where he said he has to ignore that and that dortmund were the best option in front of him. Probably the only club willing to pay what we wanted
I know. It’s a great move for him and I don’t blame him but he’s kinda made a rod for his own back. I back him to overcome it tho
Bundesliga will be a great level for him, with the exception of the top sides the jump from Championship to Bundesliga isn't huge, it's absolutely doable for him and I would back him to get up to speed within 6 months, wouldn't at all be shocked to see him in an England squad before the season is over.
if he hits the ground running for them wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the England World Cup squad
Regarding the add ons, interestingly the Athletic confirm what I was saying about both clubs trying to control the narrative: “If those add-ons are triggered, which Sunderland anticipate but Dortmund view as less achievable, it would surpass the widely reported figure of €35m Dortmund paid Rennes to sign Ousmane Dembele in 2016 to become their club record signing.” Dortmund are trying to make sure he’s not seen as their record signing
