Trying to predict what will happen at the Monaco Grand Prix is a different to any other race on the calendar and the addition to the rules of at least two pit stops could throw even another variable into the mix.

So,seeing that Oscar is good at quali and pole here is vital,I`ve gone for him.

And on the eve of the Monaco Grand Prix race weekend, race director Rui Marques has enforced a further ruling, one which focuses on the Turn 10/11 Nouvelle chicane, a rare spot on the circuit where overtaking is possible.
Any driver who gains a position by cutting across the chicane must give the place back by Tabac or a penalty will apply.

With the teams having to run their cars higher at Monaco, I wonder if we’ll see Ferrari take a step forward? I agree with Push that the precision needed round here suggests it could be a weekend where Oscar has a good chance to significantly extend his lead over Lando. The RedBull looks a bit better over the kerbs than last year to me, but it’s still the slow corners where they are weak, so will be interesting also to see to what extent Max can limit the championship damage. No real idea what to expect from Merc, but Russell has been driving well and that usually counts for something at this track.

A couple of other interesting elements.
The significant number of rookies, might give us a bit of an event filled weekend, but also an opportunity for someone to really stand out e.g. Hadjar in the very benign RB?
Mandatory 2 stop - I can see cars at the back stopping from lap 1 and hoping for a safety car, which also means that the front of the grid will have to push on to open up the pack and close that window. Depending on what happens when, we could get a totally random result.

I agree with you on all your points in your post.
The significant number of rookies is something I had not thought about, but as those 78 consentration sapping laps run down some of those young drivers may make mistakes, bringing out safety cars. Also George is one to watch,as you say and what about Lewis? He might go well here, with the Ferrari possibly making improovements. Back markers to get first pit stop done after one lap is another good point, but as always at Monaco, whoever is leading after the last round of pit stops is usually the winner.

Convinced that having grown up there, Leclerc knows a sneaky short cut around the circuit.

It also reminded me of of a time when Renault as engine suppliers were really struggling , he threw them under a bus and attempted to embarrass Cyril Abiteboul at a press conference .

Yet when RBR were winning everything , he took all the glory .

Take Horner and the Helmet out of that team and I would like them .
Not that it means anything to anyone .

You got this spot on Sportista- Ferrari right back to business here.

Merc really seem lost - in hindsight when you think about how low they usually run, if they’ve had to raise height for Monaco they may have taken a bigger relative performance hit.

The poll closed 30 mins early! For the record, after my success earlier this weekend I’m going for a chaos race where a wacky strategy wins and going for Hulkenberg!

Sorry, I can only do the poll close time in whole hours from when I create the thread, so it was either 30 mins early or 30mins into quali.

Kimi, tut tut. Can he run in Q2 if they fix it in time? Session wasn't red flagged and the damage doesn't look too bad, but he's getting towed.

Well that's Mercedes' weekend completely ruined. Good opportunity for the smaller teams to get points here now.

tbh I don't think they weren't looking like they'd get much further up the grid anyway.

Let's see if Norris can do it when it matters in Q3.
