Oh aye. Bit of quality. I was critical as I hate playing that way. But it's effective.

18 pending transactions ffs ha
100% mate not pretty but job done so far to no complaints first goal Tuesday is massive we get it and I think Lampard falls apart

hahaha glad I wasn’t out watching it for that exact reason, crate of staropramen in the sun for me today letting all my neighbours know just how much mayenda hates sam fender

It's sickening seeing someone trash the club for weeks only to become a misty-eyed happy clapper when we win.

It's very easy to be 'Sunderland's best supporter' after such a night ...

... after walking out halfway through our games and boasting about it.

That's a shame. Season ticket holder all my adult life. Family season ticket holder. Had a good night. Been no trashing the club. You post this. Guess you can not change the man, reputation for a reason.

Yeah mate. I didn't think we played that well but that's my opinion. I don't like conceding so much possession and territorial advantage (75%) and lots of corners againt. However, the defence was excellent. Ballard a monster. And we took our chances and got the result.

It's really sad to see prominent posters on here go on this way.

Also anyone saying 442 was always the answer etc it’s not. It’s the answer when you can sit in and counter

we did it against Preston and it took a worldie to stop us getting beat

that’s why he did it tonight. RLB got it spot on

It's funny about it. I hate us playing that way. Felt like the Alamo lots of the time and probability usually means a ball rolls over the line. That said the defence was that good Patterson didn't have a lot to do, which is surprising given the amount of ball and territorial advantage they had.

Reminded me of Mourinho performance

Aye it’s not easy on the eye but didn’t expect us to go there and dominate the ball, hope we take that approach Tuesday mind

I’m not going to get involved in the bickering on here mate it’s starting to take over the place it’s a shame cos it’s been class on here for years now, don’t mind the uber positive or the more critical opinions it’s literally the point of a forum, it’s also dead easy to just scroll past an opinion you don’t agree with or even whack them on ignore, we should all just be buzzing with the result

I’m still buzzing.

Can’t see how anyone can say we didn’t play well.

Playing well doesn’t always mean free flowing football and dominating.

Playing well is executing a plan. We knew they’d have the ball so we set up to stop them damaging us and we did that brilliantly. 79% possession but did we give them chances? Barely.

We defended magnificently and Dan Baresi was absolutely imperious.

We carried a threat. We had the best chances and scored twice. They scored once. We won.

Some of the videos I’ve been sent of our fans in the stadium are absolutely brilliant, not just after the game and goals but throughout the game; well done again to our magnificent away support.

Reg looked absolutely calm after the game. We did exactly what he planned for us to do which makes the win a superb performance however you wanna look at it.

Spot on mate. It's funny the bickering and posts of that ilk only come from the same 3 or 4.

Anyway, great result, sets us up for Tuesday. Should be good. Got the biggest work presentation ever on Wednesday morning too haha

Think more credit to the coaches, as it was obviously a plan for Enzo to drift into the middle as he did it a few times, our second striker would move wider left and their right back Van Ejwik or whatever he is called got lost. He went to follow Enzo for the first goal and left the space for Wilson, and the second he looked to see where Enzo was but did not notice Mayenda had pulled wide.
This was obviously worked on in the run up and worked very well.

Incredible result given we seem to be defending all the time... but fair play to RLB, his game plan worked like a dream. The stats look interesting..They had 75% possession yet only managed 3 shots on target...same as us.
Be really interesting how we line up on Tuesday...but whatever happens, last night will live long in the memory..games like this with all the tension, passion and a rse twitching moments is why we all love this club
