Would take up seven pages if I posted my thoughts on the game so I will save yous that and give some bullet points.

This was Regis best night as Sunderland manager, and no matter what now should probably stay on next season.

A few to choose from but after a dip over the past year, that was Dan Ballards best performance in red and white. I’d go as far to say one of the best individual games I’ve seen from a Sunderland player.

Most importantly, we cannot cannot cannot take the home leg for granted, fans and players. Treat it still 50/50 because it is. Years worth of records broke for us against Coventry tonight, they can do the same with their poor away form. Treat it as nil nil, remember who we are and we’ll be at Wembley on the 24th.

A proud Sunderland fan tonight. Haway the lads.

Great post, agree with every word.

Right I’m calming down. This tie is far from over. It’s going to be a completely different type of game on Tuesday.

Regis seeks great at keeping an equilibrium so hopefully he’s keeping the lads on even keel
