Another proud grandad moment for me.

After the form we've shown lately and after the disappointment of yesterday, the grandson was still wearing his Sunderland top today. He's been dragged out to the pub to watch those lot up the road and I've been reliably informed that he cheered when the first goal was scored against them in a pub no doubt full of plastic Saudis

Sat at the match yesterday with my 76yo Dad to my left and my 17yo son to my right. As yet another pass went astray I looked at my son, we both looked at my Dad and said "this is all your Dad's fault you DO know that?"

My Dad laughed, but it's true, my Grandpa is to blame for 4 generations of misery <laugh>

Always said I wished my dad took me to a Hartlepool game when I was a kid - no hope, no expectations

In one respect I got off lightly. My Grandpa was from Jarrow and in the 1920s and 1930s he used to go to Roker Park one week and Sid James park the other. The coin flip could have ended up very differently for me....

And if these bore you please move on without comment. Im sat alone tonight on my childfree night looking through pics of my lads, and it brings me to tears how proud i am of them both and how much i love them. Its true what they say about having kids, you feel a love that is so powerful its beyond words...

If you think kids are great, just wait till grandkids come along. Can’t get enough of them.

Crazy how life can change. I hit rock bottom last year when i posted these pics, and my lads were literally the only reason i plodded on. Not gonna lie the thought of ending it all crossed my mind more than once, but then id get an image in my head of my lads at my funeral crying so i disregarded it.

Fast forward a year, im moving in with my partner next week. The most amazing woman ive ever met, and im renting my house out that i currently own. Never been so happy. Thanks to all the posters on here that were there for me when i hit rock bottom. Ill never forget it x

Never seems like it at the time, but no matter how bad things are, good times can be just round the corner. Good luck with everything.

First ever competitive game of footy today for me first born, for Ely City under 6s. Scored the first goal for Ely drifting in off the wing. He absolutely loved it! Proper proud dad moment.
