Thank you for your comprehensive reply. I disagree with you on this, but you are entitled to your opinion.

I do often have beef curry on pasta. Topped cubes of paneer cheese.

I disagree with a lot of this. It is the manner that he posts not his views do much. I disagree with a lot of your views (and agree with a lot), but I have never been told “I am right” by you or that we are all dumb. It is a difference of opinion, not a forcing of opinion.

Make that dangerous and offensive to most right minded people, I've met people with similar opinions to Os and I stay well away from them.

In fairness, when I make a bolognese, I always make from scratch (no tins or jars) and use my mother’s recipe from her mum in Naples (it’s different trust me). I do have to add chillies to make it spicy though and think of my mum would be looking at me over the top of her glasses and tutting.

Mrs Lincoln took me to Rome a few years back. She's really really good at planning these sort of jaunts and found a restaurant well away from the tourist areas. I had this pasta dish made with homemade spicy sausage with a tomato sauce and to this day its the best thing I've ever eaten. I could genuinely cry knowing I'll never get to try it for the first time again. I'll think about that place on my death bed.

My Aunty’s cooking is to die for. If you ever go to Torre Annunciatia in Naples let me know as she will have anyone over for dinner!

Edit to get back on topic, Italy seems to be leaning more right nowadays.

I am no expert on Italy but isn’t Italy quite split between fascism and full on socialism?

I am not sure about Os. My wife is a Filipina and i have found some of his / her comments offensive. There was no debate as Os never engaged. I agree that a number of us ridiculed Os and that was what made this thread amusing. Shame he took things too far but Os's delivery of his perspective lost him a lot of respect.

    Thanks very much.

Only heard about it this evening. Seems like it was a mental health issue. We have been out at Butser Ancient Farm which has recently been refurbished.

I did not know it was Lapu Lapu day.

I never post on this thread. On many occasions I have deleted responses before posting. I did post not long ago about how there is pretty much a ‘manual’ online for taking over debate and spreading these extreme views. As a lurker it was increasingly obvious that Os was taking over the thread for whatever reasons. He has very strong and very unhealthy need to bait people and to feel a victim. Unfortunately I think this will be a victory and a vindication to him which is just another part of the manifesto and just serves to drive the cycle. Free speech isn’t the right to say anything anywhere at any time. Os can go stand on a street corner and yell whatever likes, he has that freedom. But he can’t jump up on the tables in the pub or at a town hall meeting or any other place that discussions and debates might happen between groups of people and not expect to be thrown out. Debate isn’t just what you think it’s how you say it, how many times you say it, when you say it and why you’re saying it. That’s real life and we shouldn’t treat these online forums as anything different.

As an amendment, my personal opinion is that Ian Thumwood is right and the board has become a politics group with a side of football. What that does is sow division amongst the group and the football discussion would be better for having no politics current affairs or religion allowed. If this thread were not here it would be one less place for people to fall apart from each other, this would not have happened, people would not have felt outraged or attacked and Os might have been spared ostracism (no pun intended)
