Another £100k of tax payers money was ted on finding Madeleine McCann.... let it go FFS..
At what point do you give up trying though? 5 years, 10, 20...? Millions is likely spent on 'cold cases' every year, rightly so imo. It's just that the McCann case gets publicity, the rest don't.
I think they do it just to keep a bit of pressure on who they think has done it and hope someone will crack.
Maybe, I don't know, but you can google 'solved cold cases' and many seem to be solved due to tech advances, dna and suchlike. Whatever, it justifies carrying on, to me anyway...
I thought they knew who did it but it couldnt be revealed because of masons with secret handshakes.
Even if the parents aren't responsible I can't understand how they haven't been charged with neglect and are media darlings instead of taking flak for leaving the children unsupervised.
Ok, 19 year old lad drives his car like a nutter, crashes into another car, kills his 3 passengers, inflicts life-changing injuries on 2 children in the other car. He gets 2 years in a youth detention center for causing death by careless driving.
14 year old girl attacks 2 teachers and another pupil with a knife, no-one dies, no-one seriously injured. 15 years in detention for attempted murder.
Is it just me or does this make a mockery of the justice system and provide victims with no satisfaction whatsoever?

I guess the difference is intent….. versus sad accident.
Yes, I was asking my daughter, a law grad, she said more or less the same. But, it's just wrong.
A recent report, by the Independent Sentencing Review, found that prison sentences are 40% longer and more severe since 1993. They'll always be 'look at their sentence compared to their sentence' cases, and there's always the option of challenging what some see as lenient sentences.

Good shout! Grinds my gears too. It's clear obstruction, even dangerous play. Should be a booking. Refs just ignore it. I don't get it.
Yeah, it's a situation where it's almost impossible to concede a foul. You can practically pick up the attacker and chuck him to the ground if he's trying to get past you to press the keeper, and the ref won't know what to do.
Whereas on the other hand, if a defender is 'shepherding' the ball out of play and an attacker wants to try and keep it in, even breathing on that defender's back will result in a foul. Two completely bizarre unwritten rules of football.
