Excellent article on BBC today regarding Tesla which corroborates Os's claim that they are the world's best selling car.

Interesting though that Tesla is now being perceived as old fashioned and old tech as others have now surpassed Tesla in specification. It is am interesting read. Did not know that Musk did not found Tesla and only joined in 2004.

Science denial is just an offshoot of media denial. The myth that ‘they are lying to you’ is pervasive and dangerous. MPs in the UK are by and large trying their best, scientists are pretty much just interested in science and discovery. Anyone who believes they are all so corrupt that they invent disasters to keep you poor is projecting their own selfish outlook on the world.

Yes there is corruption. Yes people get things wrong. Does that mean there are vast conspiracies tying thousands upon thousands together “just to keep their grants”? Absolutely not.

Actually a lot of the media does set out to deliberately mislead, misinform and manipulate the prejudices of their readers. But even propoganda sheets like The Mail and Telegraph are required to meet certain minimum standards of integrity, which they just about manage to do. Now many people get their 'information' from unregulated source on social media, where even these minimum standards don't exist. So we're ****ed, basically. Proper ****ed.

Yes of course, the media that agrees with all your views is “trustworthy”

Any media which opposes your views is “untrustworthy”

Every time Mail journalists post anything on X they get attacked. BY THE RIGHT for being too liberal. The internet is ****ing crazy.

It's comments like this that do you no favours at all - by stating something as fact that can be disproved in about 10 seconds.

Of course you would disagree. But it depends on which metrics you use. Of course you’ve picked a metric which looks bad, because you have an agenda.

But you are wrong. They created and innovated in an industry that was pretty stagnant for decades. They’ve already achieved many feats that people said were impossible.

They are finalising self-driving cars and robo-taxis. They have the largest market cap and most cash on hand of any car company.

Elon will continue to prove you and everyone that doubts him wrong, the way he always does

Can I ask if you can see the irony in the first line? It could (and probably does) apply to you too?

I think it’s a good policy to be sceptical about all news services. And to read a broad cross section of often contrary opinions.

But I think any responsible adult should be capable of distinguishing between bias which can be adjusted for, and outright unsubstantiated nonsense which has little to no value. The latter seems to account for most of the Musk promoted hogwash which “informs” the wilfully ignorant among us.

The scenes in Birmingham are an absolute disgrace. Labour need to get a grip and sort the bin strikes out before rats take over the city.

This is the problem with your views. You still believe the media is somewhat held to account or truthful. It’s simply not true.

All of it is controlled and has its own agenda. Every single article in the legacy media has an angle. They aren’t there to inform you, they are there to control you.

Understand that legacy media is just as bad for your brain as social media, you’re just more accepting of the ideas as they’ve been pumped into you for longer.

Oh dear.

You misunderstand how it actually works.

Almost no one is saying there is some evil cabal of aligned interests pulling the strings.

It’s more like.. there is a complex web of incentives and those at the top with money and power use that power to push and control certain narratives and silence others.

For example; the Tesla stuff. If you are actually aware of what’s happening, it’s obvious there is a huge media campaign against it and has been for years.

They have been carrying out a “short & distort” campaign against Tesla for a long time. They amplify bad news, and don’t mention good news in many media outlets.

This strategy of short and distort is often used against companies to bring the share price down so short sellers make $$.

In Tesla’s case this has been obvious for years. The attacks against Tesla became more intense the more he spoke out against the democrats/leftist ideas.
