yeah, it's a fairly long way off though Pretty much agree with everything there, except the offside, it's not subjective, if you're, off you're off, by a rat-tail or whatever. The time it's taking is the major gripe, but there's always teething problems with new technology, this is no different. can't wait for AI refs myself, gonna be a long time until it's going to be fit for purpose though, AI is more parlour trick than anything else atm.
Fair points - gonna disagree on the offsides because some cracking goals have been erased for a finger, toe or nose ... or because some twat can't draw the line at the precise time ...
Being in an offside position is objective but that doesn't constitute the offence on its own. Obviously most cases will be clear in the other elements of the rule but you can't discount the fact that the rule isn't entirely objective. Tbf id prefer offside to just be offside but that's another thing.
I stuck the Italy game on for about 20 minutes, not that it really makes a difference. As with the global indifference to the sport, it’s a small minority even here where the game was created that give a toss and considerably less for club rugby. Doesn’t mean anyone who does enjoy it should enjoy it any less but let’s not pretend it’s popular. It was never meant to be for the masses.
Objective as long as the noddy in the portakabin picks the right frame and has the tech up to a standard to even be sure. There’s still too big a margin of error even after they’ve antagonised over where to draw the line such as that one Coventry had ruled out against United. Just nonsense.
Yeah, if you're off when the ball is kicked forwards, you're off. **** phases or whether it glanced off a defender, you've gained an advantage from being in an offside position.
Yeah the tech isn't accurate enough at present and for the closest ones you can pick a different frame to get a different result. That Coventry one was infuriating. Would have been one of the greatest FA Cup stories in history and we were robbed of it by the VAR nonsense.
It’s not **** all the time, the other times it’s just plain bent af see odegarrds basketball impression and dokus kung fu kick into macallisters chest last season for details
His argument seems to be based on how it will improve, I'm sorry but that's not acceptable. How many seasons do we have to put up with before it works? It all comes back to one thing. A goal is no longer a goal, we cheer a bit but know what's coming so there's no real celebration anymore. I'm not sure who it's worse for match going people or people at home but I know it's **** for both.
Sorry maybe crying was ott I meant no pitch invasions or fireworks and a tour bus when you drew the next game
Was chatting with an Everton fan from Kensington in the pub yesterday nice lad. We both loved the derby, game of the season for me so far proper game.
Definitely worse at the match. At least on TV you're seeing replays etc whereas at the game you're just stood there watching 25 blokes doing **** all. Always makes me laugh that I could do a 400 mile round trip without knowing why a goal was disallowed but some **** in Malaysia knows.
