However, it has been suggested that the Blades have offered a lower initial fee than the one proposed by Sunderland.

The Blades are willing to pay a guaranteed £10 million plus £3 million in extras for the prolific Championship marksman. Chris Wilder’s money men were forced to act fast after Sunderland reached the asking price in a package that also includes extras. Cannon was officially recalled from loan at Stoke by Leicester before the deadline on Tuesday night.
