While there's a lull in matches I'll just mention something I was told a couple of months back.

It's just gossip but the lad does have a contact at the club and I've been studying things since he mentioned it.

I said nowt, at the time, because I hadn't particularly paid much attention.

It seems the goalkeeper coach, Barcherini, has a much wider role than I thought. He's involved in tactics, throughout the team, and is the matchday 'statman' who instructs subs going on and is involved in team talks at half time etc. He certainly seems to cling onto the 'laptop' when I've watched him. He has quite an input into how we build our attacks from the keeper apparently.

Our new coach and assistant manager, Pedro Ribeiro, is more involved in day to day coaching particularly the young/fringe players.

Interesting stuff, does anyone else have 'knowledge' of this out of interest.

Must admit, watching matches on streams, I've seen Barcherini talking to players a lot when there's been breaks in play. Thought it was a bit odd for a goalkeeping coach but never really thought much more of it.

Cheers for sharing mate

I think he's really highly rated as a coach, so good that RLB seems to be developing coaches as well players

I noticed this. The GK coach is often one briefing subs before they come on. Found that weird but this obviously correlates.

Perhaps he's the one who is in communication with any data analysts and getting real time data from the game that he can feed into the subs (i.e. their right back keeps passing it inside so block it off)

Some rumours that Cleverley could be sacked by Watford soon. Their fans aren't happy. Think that would be a stupid sacking, their squad is nowhere near playoff level and they are over performing massively.

surely not? That’s mental if he goes.

From what I can remember, from Speakman, he does seem to have a background in data and can obviously speak English.

As that's the spoken language, on the training ground, it makes sense. I've no doubt French, etc, is spoken at times, but I think it's good that everyone speaks English on the pitch and in training. I don't know why Pedro Ribeiro speaks good English, must be from school.

Apparently Sean Dyche is now favourite for the West Brom job.

Seems a bit hasty of him that, to me? You'd think he'd have a chance at another prem gig if he holds on.

He’s the new favourite but Mowbray is creeping up in the betting too
