A small town in Canada has been fined for not celebrating Pride.
Personally I think it’s up to the individual what they choose to like and not like. I’m in broad agreement with the commenters here.

Seems over the top to force that on a town, but why didn't the town just stick a flag up? What's their issue?

I think it’s a case of freedom of expression. Would you wear a NUFC top and say they’re great?
Not really the same issue that though. They're not necessarily asking the town to adopt their views, just help them celebrate them.
Nor has it been illegal to be a mag for hundreds of years (even though it should be)

What are they celebrating, serious question as I don't understand.

Their freedom to be who they are? Having had centuries where they would be thrown in jail for being who they are, or being denied basic human rights such as marriage until 10 years ago. Even now, homophobia is rife - why shouldn't gay people be loud and proud? Who is it harming?

Because you shouldn't push it into peoples faces. This is why Gregg Wallace is now getting into trouble for the heterosexual side.

100s of years. They are doing well to be celebrating anything aged what they must be now :emoticon-0104-surpr.

Let them crack on and celebrate whatever they wish. It doesn't bother me

Why is celebrating something "pushing it in people's faces"?

If you celebrate a Sunderland goal are you doing it in the face of the opposition supporters, or are you celebrating with your like minded mates?
