According to his post-match interview, as reported in WLS, Marti says the players decided who should take the penalty. In my book that is totally wrong: he is the boss, he chooses the team, he decides the tactics and he is supposed to be more of an expert than any of the players. His failure to take responsibility for such a key decision is a big mistake and not the the first he has made. However, whilst I didn't sing his name during the match, I still very much support him as our manager. He worked miracles last year and he has been dealt a poor hand this year in terms of the players at his disposal and the injuries we have suffered. In my opinion, firing him now would be madness but very QPR, having just extended his contract.

I think Marti's full of ****. Every team must have a designated penalty-taker, you can't just make it up as you go along. The manager has to bear responsibility for this.

You're probably right that we can't afford to sack him after giving him a new contract, but he's taking us down.

It's been said elsewhere that Celar took the ball off Madsen..... if true it's down to the captain on the pitch to sort it out......

Warnock - Taarabt - Helguson? Why one designated penalty taker?

Just to say a big thank you to SB73, Beth, Terry B, Roller, Nines, Nines long suffering daughter and anyone else i have forgotten - there was a substantial amount of booze - for a great day back in the Bush after many many years

Rain, beer, pessimism, a goal! (OG) and some miserable Stoke fans post match giving us the old 'you're too good to go down' spiel

Great beers - how did the Defectors run out of bitter? Just the right amount of miserable weather to bring a smile to my face

Perfect really as I had zero expectations of a win

Thank you all - see you at Watford

ETA that I thought we were the better team, Stoke were shocking, but we are weak at the back, up front and our passing is shocking

Good before the game, and good after. The game was a consequence. Nice to meet up with the old crew especially WBA 2 QPR 3. Madsen should've taken the penalty. Unlucky not to win that one ... I thought we did enough but no one to stick the ball in the onion bag. Stoke fans I met thought we were too good to go down.

Nzs only stoke supporter won't be getting any beer out of me

Give him a good swift kick in the nuts and tell him, the only reason we didn't win is because we have Celar, a leading goal scorer in the Swiss Alps, or anywhere else they don't play mens football. Your friend should be buying you beers for us having Zan Celar ( Stand Clear of goal ).

I still think we’ll be safe mid table come the end of the season, I personally feel this is our worst run of injuries to several key players in an absolute age, Dembele will be a massive miss till February , Frey we are clearly missing , Chair is a player on his day can turn a game upside down, our middle is clearly missing Colback, for all his many faults discipline wise he is the glue that holds the middle together, and JCS is tantamount to a good defence, we’re going to have to be patient and await their return where I strongly feel we will prove to be a whole lot better than we are currently and certainly better than at least half a dozen sides in reality !!

To focus on the positives, I was stuck on the central line until about 14:45 during which time I met a woman and her two kids in QPR kit who, it turned out, was a very distant relative by marriage!

We left the train to get an Uber and Uber offered me a speedier pick up if I went for Uber X. Having clicked OK to that, a random stranger came up to us to ask us how best to get to the game and we invited him into our Uber.

As if that was not positive enough, having arrived at about 15:40, I missed their goal, our woeful penalty and could celebrate both our (own) goal and their disallowed goal. Happy days. All the fun and none of the misery!

As stated in a previous post, I think Marti's lap was a goodbye. There is some click bait to support that but he has also been unusually blunt in his post match comments too.

Wow!
Good for you but mid table? No chance. Scrapping through at the death? Maybe.
