There is never one single cause for an event. It's always a combination of factors but when it comes to blame you've absolutely nailed it there. Fernandes takes prime billing. The owners collectively may know how to run a normal business but do not have a clue when it comes to a football club but they bought into his vision.

I am not entering into the debate about who is responsible for buying players and their criteria. None of us know and we are all guessing based on someone else's guess and rumour. What I will say however is that I find it remarkable that a player can be bought on the basis of OPTA stats and an algorithm based on potential for increase in market value without any input at all from the coach. If that is what the Board have sanctioned so that Nourry is the only person making the decisions that is incredibly stupid. I would however add that any manager or coach who accepted that restriction on his role is also a fool.

While we talk about Brentford, does anyone seriously believe that their success in the transfer market came without any input at all from each of their managers starting with Rosler, Warburton, Dean Smith, Thomas Frank? I suspect that it's the manager who chooses who he would want in an ideal world and that the CEO or board then decide the terms of the deal and the price they are willing to pay.

That brings the argument round full circle. Why are we still fishing in the cheap pools? Because of the FFP fine ie Tony Fernandes coupled now with the fact that other clubs have fallen foul and had massive points deductions. The Board is understandably cautious to ensure the club can live within its means.

Fernandes was obviously less than useless but how far back do we want to go? That fat **** Briatore with Ronnie Corbett were a joke and we went up in spite of them. Hughes and Redknapp both negligent and crap in equal measure. Chris Wright, Richard Thompson, Paul Hart, Kia Joorabchian, Steve Slade?

We went into the summer in a not amazing position financially but better than it has been for the last few years and the decisions this summer have left us in a seriously perilous position going into the next one as it stands. I think if the OP is genuine rather than just another moan about the manager it has to be those at the top right now.

I've seen and heard Marti say he was mainly happy with the summer window. It certainly seemed from what he said that he had told the Club what he wanted, so it seemed pretty clear he had input, most probably with Belk and certainly Nourie. Don't really understand why it's being questioned again now apart of course from where we are in the League. My guess was that he was only mostly happy because we missed the LB we were after (He's injured too now) and also another striker.

This is our tenth season in the Championship and the only time we had stability and a slender shot at getting back up it was a fallout between Sir Les and Warburton that kyboshed it. So Sir Les takes the brickbat here...

Voted Nourry but I'm sure it's multiple factors.

The crazy thing is nobody wants to do badly, I'm sure the players want to play well but it's just not working.

Maybe we'll sort it in January if Marti gets that long.

Voted 'other' as 'All of the above other than Jude' wasn't an option. From ownership to numerous poor decisions by managers, and in appointing managers, down to players having awful attitudes, so many are to share the blame for where we are at right now.

Essentially though, it is down to the players, and on paper we have good enough players not to be in this position (not saying they are good enough for top six, but not rock bottom!)...but they aren't getting forward and creating chances. Not fair just to blame the players though, because they are being set up in a way that doesn't give them any option when they do get forward, so by logic, it must be the management's fault...but Cifuentes and his team will say they can only work with the cards they've been dealt...and the players who they have available.

So, you can go round in circles, and blame numerous people, but blame isn't going to help us get out of this mess. We need improvements in the next game or two, and at least get something against Cardiff or wholesale changes will be needed before it is too late.

I ain't voting for any one as it's a combination of owners, those running the club on a day to day basis, coaches, players...... In a way we're still paying for the Tango & Cash screwed over Warnock before selling the club to Fernandes..... Then Fernandes went at it like a child in a sweet shop buying all and sundry on ludicrous wages..... Fernandes was then screwed over by Hughes and Redknapp and we're still paying off that fine.....
I'm surprised we haven't been relegated before now as we've circled the drain for years, we should have gone down 2 seasons ago but for 2 out of nowhere away wins at Burnley and Stoke..... Somehow we survived last season and finished as one of the form teams in the division.....
I still don't understand the reasoning for selling Dykes and Armstrong other than we got a few bob for them, that has to be the CEO's decision, but to then use the funds to buy players who score high on an algorithm but look lost in the championship leaves us in deep deep trouble..... Also spend all summer saying that Paal is available to go, but ends up staying and instead send the only other left back out on loan for the season looks even more ridiculous now that Paal is injured.
The squad is thin and 6 or 7 injuries haven't helped, but the lack of information about this sort of thing p1sses everyone off...... If Frey is out for 3 months, tell us, don't just say slight calf strain..... If the club were straight with the fans I think there would be more understanding......

Mike Sheron wasn’t on the list but when we got relegated in the 90’s we spunked what money we had on an injured cart horse

Will have to wait and see what offensive qualities he offers and reserve further judgement. Blackburn and Derby games he was literally pathetic although at Blackburn he did pick the ball up with nobody around him and play it 10 yards behind him straight out of play.

I'm hearing that Ben Williams who is our Director Of Performance is working remotely from home in Dubai. He uses computing and analytical performance programming to work out who to play and where. He passes this information on to Nourry who then tells Cifuentes which team to pick. If true, no one is going to come to us with this model if Marti is sacked or walks. Williams has also ( only two months ago ) signed up to the basketball team 'Brooklyn Nets' as their 'Director of Performance' and advises them remotely.

''Ben Williams begins his first season in Brooklyn as director of high performance, where he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Nets’ performance team. In a career spanning 18 years, Williams has become a high performance and innovation leader and has worked with elite organizations including Queens Park Rangers Football Club of the English Football League Championship, INEOS Grenadiers Pro Cycling, INEOS Brittania, OGC Nice Football in France’s Ligue 1, Red Bull, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing and Manchester City in England’s Premier League. He has supported athletes and teams en route to multiple world and Olympic honors and recently led the successful World Hour Record cycling project for INEOS Group. Williams is a PhD researcher in sport and exercise science and prior to beginning his career in sports, he served in the British Army. ''

We're ****ed! If true, we need to get rid of Nourry and get a football person in.

It's like going back to the Briatore days. Shocking if true. It would explain a lot about how we've fallen since end of last season. Even Cifuentes said that he has to work with what he's been given with. Something is wrong in the state of Denmark. It's not gone well! How would you explain the downfall from the end of last season to what we're currently experiencing?
