Trouble is mate, humans tend to talk in decades and centuries and ocassionally when referring to history we may talk in thousands, that's like us existing for a few seconds compared to Univere billions of years. It don't mean we shouldn't look after our planet though, although it always makes me smile when people say stuff like it's the hottest it's been in a hundred years lol. I can remember the severe flooding in Germany, an area I had visited, I found the same area had been flooded exactly the same during WW2 (through a quick bit of research), so much so it hindered the allies. You could see a lot of it looked freshly built to keep the Rhine at bay where it flows into the Danube, but you could also see new structures, and I always think you will keep building near these water ways, areas that have history of being flooded, we do the same in the UK. See even here I'm only chatting the last 80 years. Also when you protect land from water, you likely just shift the problem to somewhere else.

The Earth in its history has changed from a molten ball of rock, to a solid snowball, to a planet wide lush jungle to a series of ice ages to what we have now

ALL of these changes have been caused by three basic things, volcanic activity, unexplained changes to the tilt of the earth on its axis and continental drift and all of these event have been supervised and partly controlled bye our moon

Our overpopulation of the planet combined with burning fossil fuel and wanton destruction of the worlds Rain Forrests have made the current climate change worse than if we did not exist but we did not make it happen

If we all disappeared overnight and never returned Climate Change would still happen over time just maybe a bit quicker

As brb said in a few billion years the Earth will not exist, but if we do not destroy ourselves and master travel in outer space then a new planet in another galaxy will be the new Earth where it can all start over again, probably not for the first time

It's all very intriguing, beyond even what I could describe when you consider the odds of just you and I even being here in existence.

Walt Disney teach you that?

Sudan massacre the forgotten conflict...the genocide in June 2023 was worse than 2003, ethnically motivated killings in Kutum.

Putin is fuming over these long range weapons being considered for Ukraine. First time I've seen a tinge of fear in his eyes, the penny dropping that the Ukranians could be taking the war to him. As Keir has said, you started the war Putin, and you can end it anytime.

You know it wouldn't take the cost of just a few of those missiles to stop pensioners freezing to death this winter?

We know where our PMs priorities lie now, looking good on the world stage and **** his own people.

Perhaps he'll have a drinks party at No 10 whilst the rest of the country is isolating, and relatives can't say goodbye to loved ones dying in hospital... levels...

Did someone have a piece of cake with people he had been working with all day?
I know, he ate itr while people were dying, then again most people in the country eat food every day at the same time as people were dying and still do to this day.

Never heard you complaining about the governments treatment of people prior to a couple of months ago. Funny that.

Thanks to David Cameron’s government, I have to work till I’m 67 to get my state pension (which I’ve been paying into since 1977). I’m sure @Diego will join me on the barricades
