They get zero backing from the government in such cases, they get hung out to dry.

We haven't got the police we deserve, midgets, scruffy fat gits, tattooed to frig, all sorts of non uniform badges on their uniform. They have a very hard job but often don't help themselves, Peter Hitchens has it right, scrap them and start again.
I dunno. I think if there's ever a situation they'd get full backing for going in heavy handed then this is it.
Other than the usual agitators I don't think there would be much sympathy for looters taking advantage of the situation.

People will look at the scenes today and wonder why coppers don’t start cracking heads. Well, one did just that at Manchester Airport to a scrote who broke his female colleague’s nose and that led to outrage and riots in Rochdale. In that case, I personally think the officer went way too far by stomping on a detained suspect’s head but the coppers are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

The scummer deserved a good hiding but not like that.
I agree. The officer showed a lack of restraint. The fallout from that was a riot in Rochdale by the local South Asian community. The knock-on effect from that is coppers in Stoke standing by their police van whilst a group of men armed with pipes, machetes and hammers run past them.
Law and order has fully broken down in the country now. Riots in Leeds by Romani people due to social services taking neglected kids from parents, riots in Rochdale in response to overzealous policing and riots in major towns and cities across the whole country in response to a heinous attack on little girls. These things don’t exist in vacuum and the ugly scenes we saw today have been bubbling away for years.
The thing is, most of the rioters and looters don’t care about these issues. They just want an excuse to smash **** out of shops and people they don’t like and half-inch ****. The videos of people burning shops and cars attacking some Asian guy in his car whilst calling him a ‘P*ki’ is just mob mentality.
