I think the arguments with McEnroe started when someone said that Williams was the best tennis player of all time and he said no, she was the best female player. Some uptight individuals said that was insulting to her and he replied that the top women would not beat the 200th ranked male player. More uproar. The Williams sisters good naturedly went along when a challenge was put up to play a bloke ranked 205th. And they duly got tonked.

Any thoughts on transgender tennis players identifying as women playing in the women’s tournaments?
Don’t think any women identifying as being men will want to play in the men’s tournaments though.

Who is dog whistling against them? A simple question. Do you think they should be allowed to compete? Sharon Davies and others have been vilified by the pro trans lobby for saying they shouldn’t.
